Description
We are a social enterprise connecting people affected by conflict and migration on the Thailand Burma border to the global community. We co-create with refugee communities so that they may support and empower themselves through entrepreneurship while sustaining and building upon their traditional skills.
We engage in co-creative processes to identify the needs and the strategies to meet those needs of the communities that we work with.
We focus on the specific skill-set of our volunteers as well as what skills, experiences and outputs you are in interested in gaining and how we can support you in accomplishing your goals. So, it is important that you are self-motivated, self-reliant and innovative.
We are located on the Thailand Burma border in the magical jungle outside of Mae Hong Son, Thailand. You would be staying in a large 'Jungle Villa.'Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
This is a beautiful and remote area of Thailand...everyday and every activity will be an authentic cultural exchange (e.g. heading to the market).
You will also have the opportunity to connect and work with the refugee villages who I work with.
The villages are full of traditional skills including bamboo work, spear fishing, honey harvesting, guitar making, cooking, farming, weaving and jewelry making, to name a few. The people in the village are engaging and interested in practicing their English skills.
I like to leave the cultural exchange to happen organically, however, you may be interested in learning the communities' traditional farming methods, teaching permaculture methods and supporting each other...Help
PERMACULTURE DESIGN:
This is a super exciting opportunity for a team / couple to put your Perma Design skills to use!
I am based in a jungle village outside of Mae Hong Son, Thailand, in a large, open-air, tree-house-esque home, on a river and a beautiful piece of land.
The land has amazing amounts of fruit trees, however I am not using it to its fullest potential and would Love to do so. You would mostly have complete creative freedom to design the land! As well, I welcome creativity in our large Jungle Villa!
The work that I do is with the local refugee communities. So, I personally spend a lot of time either in the communities or on my computer preparing for / promoting different projects.
You will have the opportunity to connect with the communities as well.Languages spoken

You would be staying in the 'Jungle Villa.' It is large, beautiful, open-air, slightly dilapidated, wooden home.
We have fiber optic internet and electricity. There was running water and hot showers. The home is furnished with a few beds and some fun furniture and mats.
I have motorbikes available. It is also possible to rent a bicycle in town (and use to go in and out of town). It is also possible to commute by boat to the community. What else ...
You will be located in the mountainous jungle of northern Thailand, surrounded by villages, hikes, waterfalls, rice paddies, tea and coffee villages, hotsprings, etc.
