Description
We are looking for an individual volunteer or couple to live and work with us on our eco hostel. I am English and my wife is Colombian and we have two kids 14 and 16 years old, three cats and three dogs. As a family and a business we are a very relaxed and friendly but also industrious and hard-working. The hostel is located between San Gil and Barichara and has spectacular views, a natural swimming pool, affordable glamping, a citrus orchard, dry toilets and solar showers.
In exchange for 4 hours work, we offer breakfast plus accommodation in a geodesic dome. For guests and volunteers there is a basic campfire kitchen with wood fired stove and oven. We have an excellent restaurant with lots of vegetarian options and volunteers can buy the set lunch or dinner at a special price ($20.000).
The work is mostly garden work, construction, maintenance, publicity or artistic stuff.
We are also looking for a long term (1+ months) volunteer to help with publicity and marketing.
Volunteers must have a high level of either English or Spanish.
We expect all our volunteers to have a proper working attitude as you would in any other job. We welcome all volunteers into our family and we treat them very fairly and respectfully, and in exchange we expect them to do what we ask of them in the best way they can.

There is loads to do in the area: hiking, rivers, waterfalls, colonial villages and extreme sports and you will plenty of time to do them during the day.
The hostel is remote but accessible, 15mins walk from the bus route. Buses pass every 15 mins to San Gil (15 mins away) , Barichara (20mins away) and Villanueva (20 mins away) .

Juliana was an excellent volunteer (and so was her boyfriend Tim). She did everything we asked of her very well and wth no fuss. Her jobs included recycling, looking after goats and making a fence. She's a lovely person to have around too. I'd recommend her to anyone.

I had a really nice week volunteering here. Justin, Andrea and their 2 kids are lovely people! The setting is peaceful and gorgeous, perfect for relaxing after 4 hours of work. They have an amazing place a little out of the town but cheap, quick and easy by bus and you're surrounded by nature, waterfalls, forest and animals. The other volunteers were so nice as well as the guests. Definitely stay here even if you don't get a chance to volunteer!

Cancelled on me with a weeks worth of notice after many back and forths and a definitive date being set weeks prior. Not his fault i presume as he said his brother is coming for a number of months. Just a bit frustrating having had passed up other opportunities in leu of expecting work here.
