  Hello,
  My name is Marilyne, Canadian living in Quebec in the French-speaking part. I am 35 years old and I am a primary and secondary school teacher. I am also self-employed in photography. I have traveled a lot solo: I studied for 1 year in Switzerland, worked in Belgium, Alberta (Canadian province), and visited more than ten countries by backpack. I have done a lot of couchsurfing and exchange of services (volunteering).
  I live in a small town (the happy medium between the city and the countryside), a very cultural and lively city, but close to several parks and nature.
  
  I also have two small dogs. I need them to be walked at least 3 times a day. My need is to have someone at home who takes care of these tasks while I'm traveling. So you would be 100% independent.
  
  My dogs are extremely sociable, kind to humans, other dogs, children. Very calm indoors... they almost always sleep. They are 8 years old and 2 years old. They walk about 20 minutes a day (the longest walk) and the other walks are only 5 minutes, the time for them to do their business.
  
  Your mission: Take care of 2 very adorable and easy-going little dogs. They love everyone. Live in a beautiful new apartment. I leave the apartment clean when I leave... when I come back, I expect the cleaning to be done as well. Very clean... I don't want people to come to my house while I'm away.
  
  You live alone at my place (I lend you my apartment while I travel in the winter), but I have friends who live 8 minutes walk from my place. They organize board game nights every week. You can join them and meet people. Trois-Rivières is a small cultural city. There are public buses. It's not ideal... However, I live close to everything: restaurants, downtown, grocery stores, etc.

  I will be traveling. However, I have friends who live in a very large community 10 minutes walk from my house. You will be invited to play board games and activities with them, have dinners, etc. I can also organize coffee meetings with friends. Trois-Rivières is a very typical Canadian/Quebec city. Many young people under 40 speak English, although their first language is French. You will be able to easily practice your French if that is one of your desires.

  Accommodation

  You are gonna stay at my place, alone. I live in a condo-style apartment, very recent. It is very beautiful and quite luxurious. I have a large bedroom with a king size bed and a very comfortable mattress. Only one bedroom. A large kitchen, a large living room (high speed internet), Prime Video subscription, a mini home gym and a large bathroom with washing machine. A large terrace outside.
  
  Trois-Rivières is a lively little city, with museums, very cultural, an amphitheater 5 minutes walk away, lots of hiking. I am located about 15 minutes walk from the city center. 2 minutes walk from a huge, very pretty harbor park and the amphitheater. Right in front of the accommodation, there is a large park, an ice rink, a pétanque court, a basketball court and a public swimming pool. I am a 5-minute walk from the grocery store and several shops and restaurants. Trois-Rivières, as well as my neighborhood, are very safe. You can walk in the middle of the night without ever worrying. No risk.
  
  I'll give you some basics: spices, pasta, rice, chicken and beef broth, ketshup, mustard, olive oil. You have to buy your own food and cook it.
