(EN) Hello everybody!😃My name is Ivano, and together with my family, we own a winery in the beautiful countryside of the area of Viterbo, about 1 hour away from Rome.
We are a family of 4, with a tiny funny dog and a cat. We also have some chickens that spoil us with fresh and organic eggs, as well as gooses and ducks.
We live at very close contact with nature, we have a big organic garden that gives us fresh vegetables, and we also have chestnuts and hazelnuts orchids.
One of our main values is to cultivate the land in the most natural way, using only natural substances and cultivating in an organic way (we only had a couple of episodes where we had to use more chemical products to face emergency, but we make it a point to be as organic as possible).
Our main family activity is the wine production, which we are very proud of, since we strive to produce it in the most traditional way, only using natural products and adding the very minimum required amount of sulfites. We make a living out of wine making, but the workawayers will not be involved in the business side of it - we are willing to teach you and show you in case you are interested, but the main help do not focus on the wine making, as we already have paid workers for that.
We live in a small and characteristic village, called Vallarano, near the beautiful medieval city of Viterbo.
I have a basic knowledge of the English language, but I really desire to improve it, and I would love to have someone who I could practice it with.
Just as a headsup: my father and my mother do not really speak English, and, as I've mentioned, my English is not really fluent yet (a friend is helping me to write the English description of this profile)...the bright side is that you will surely will learn some Italian along the way, but it's important to understand that language may be a little barrier in the beginning, as I get used to practice English on a daily basis. I will do my absolute best, though!
(IT) Ciao a tutti!😃Mi chiamo Ivano e, insieme alla mia famiglia, possediamo un'azienda vinicola nella splendida campagna del Viterbese, a circa 1 ora da Roma.
Siamo una famiglia di 4 persone, con un piccolo cane divertente e un gatto. Abbiamo anche delle galline che ci viziano con uova fresche e biologiche, oltre a oche e anatre.
Viviamo a stretto contatto con la natura, abbiamo un grande orto biologico che ci regala verdure fresche, e abbiamo anche orchidee di castagne e nocciole.
Uno dei nostri valori principali è coltivare la terra nel modo più naturale, utilizzando solo sostanze naturali e coltivando in modo biologico (abbiamo avuto solo un paio di episodi in cui abbiamo dovuto utilizzare più prodotti chimici per far fronte all'emergenza, ma ce la facciamo un punto per essere il più organici possibile).
La nostra principale attività familiare è la produzione del vino, di cui siamo molto orgogliosi, poiché ci sforziamo di produrlo nel modo più tradizionale, utilizzando solo prodotti naturali e aggiungendo la quantità minima necessaria di solfiti. Ci guadagniamo da vivere con la produzione del vino, ma i lavoratori non saranno coinvolti nel lato commerciale - siamo disposti a insegnarti e mostrarti nel caso tu sia interessato, ma l'aiuto principale non si concentra sulla vinificazione, dato che abbiamo già pagato i lavoratori per questo.
Viviamo in un piccolo e caratteristico borgo, chiamato Vallarano, vicino alla bellissima città medievale di Viterbo.
Ho una conoscenza di base della lingua inglese, ma desidero davvero migliorarla e mi piacerebbe avere qualcuno con cui esercitarla.
Premetto che mio padre e mia madre non parlano inglese e, come ho già detto, il mio inglese non è ancora molto fluente (un amico mi sta aiutando a scrivere la descrizione in inglese di questo profilo)...il il lato positivo è che imparerai sicuramente un po' di italiano lungo la strada, ma è importante capire che la lingua potrebbe essere un piccolo ostacolo all'inizio, dato che mi abituo a praticare l'inglese quotidianamente. Farò del mio meglio in assoluto, però!

You will experience what it's like to live in a characteristic Italian village, immersed in the nature of the countryside in a very traditional Italian family. The village is close to the beautiful medieval city of Viterbo, and it's about 1 hour from Rome. I often have to drive to Rome during the weekends, so, when possible, I could give you a ride there.
If you are passionate about agriculture, organic farming, and traditional wine making, this is the place for you. My family and I will be more than happy to share the knowledge that we have been practicing for generations.

Close to our village, there is the UNESCO patrimony beech forest of the Cimini mountain. We are also very close to the beautiful vulcanic Vico lake, where I often go and where I will be happy to take you.
As I've mentioned, our main activity is the producton of wine. We usually harvest the grapes and work in the process of wine making between September and December. If you are passionate about learning how to make wine in a traditional and natural way, me and my family will be happy to show you.
(IT) Vivo nella provincia di Viterbo, territorio ricco di cultura, paesaggi bellissimi e legato a tradizioni antiche che si tramandano da generazioni, come il lavoro nei campi e le tecniche nei processi di lavorazione.

Sperimenterai com'è vivere in un caratteristico villaggio italiano, immerso nella natura della campagna in una famiglia italiana molto tradizionale. Il paese è vicino alla bellissima città medievale di Viterbo, e dista circa 1 ora da Roma. Spesso devo guidare fino a Roma durante i fine settimana, quindi, quando possibile, potrei darti un passaggio lì.
Se sei appassionato di agricoltura, agricoltura biologica e vinificazione tradizionale, questo è il posto che fa per te. Io e la mia famiglia saremo più che felici di condividere la conoscenza che pratichiamo da generazioni.

Vicino al nostro paese si trova la faggeta dei Monti Cimini, patrimonio dell'UNESCO. Siamo anche molto vicini al bellissimo lago vulcanico di Vico, dove vado spesso e dove sarò felice di portarvi.
Conoscerete la mia famiglia composta da 4 persone ed i miei animali domestici. Vi confronterete con le tradizioni del paese e la tipica vita di un villaggio di campagna.

(EN) The main help I need (in addition to the practice of English, for those who are not Italian) concerns the work in general in the organic garden, and with fruit trees. The work to be done varies according to the months and the season.
We have a piece of land that belonged to my grandfather, and which due to various commitments, I have not been able to take care of in recent times. I would need someone to help me clean it up and tidy it up, as it is a land that I really care about.
In terms of daily practical help, I would mainly need someone who can help me in the organic garden. The main help involves gardening and taking care of the land. It doesn't matter if you don't have experience, the only thing you need is the willingness to learn and help, and I will be more than happy to teach you.
We live and work according to the season - therefore, each month, the tasks needed may differ.
As I mentioned before, we have had a wine'making family business for decades, and we already have paid professionals that help us with it. If you wish to learn or observe how to make wine, we will be happy to share our knowledge, but the main help we need is not gonna involve the family business.
(IT) L'aiuto principale di cui ho bisogno (oltre alla pratica dell'inglese, per chi non è italiano) riguarda i lavori in generale nell'orto biologico, e con gli alberi da frutto. I lavori da fare variano a seconda dei mesi e della stagione.
Abbiamo un terreno che era di mio nonno, e che a causa dei vari impegni, non sono riuscito a curare negli ultimi periodi. Avrei bisogno di qualcuno che mi aiutasse a ripulirlo e riordinarlo, dato che è un terreno a cui tengo molto.
In termini di aiuto pratico quotidiano, avrei principalmente bisogno di qualcuno che mi aiuti nell'orto biologico. L'aiuto principale riguarda il giardinaggio e la cura della terra. Non importa se non hai esperienza, l'unica cosa di cui hai bisogno è la volontà di imparare e aiutare, e sarò più che felice di insegnarti.

Accommodation
(EN) We have a private room, in which there are two separate beds, with a wardrobe for storing clothing and personal effects. If you need to work remotely, you can use the desk in the room with a good wi-fi connection. The bathroom is shared with the rest of the family (my parents and I, as my sister lives in another house). You will share 3 meals a day with my family (breakfast, lunch and dinner) The afternoon hours are flexible, as work is mostly in the morning.
