We live in the beautiful, green Vienna Woods on a (unfortunately busy) street in a lovely, old, large house – together with all sorts of people in a kind of family-style shared apartment.
A stream flows through the garden, there's a pond, and lots of nature and wildlife – and yet buses stop right outside our door several times an hour, taking you to the subway in just a few minutes (about 35 minutes to the city center).
My partner, two kids, and a cat live in our apartment, and since I'll be alone with the kids in September, October, and November 2026, I'm looking for fun, friendly company and productive support for them and me during that time. The two little ones are 1 and 5 years old, funny, active, loud, and love being around people. In the mornings at the kindergarten, you would always have free time to explore Vienna or pursue your digital nomad lifestyle - in the afternoons from about 3 pm onwards, your support would be appreciated to keep them entertained - there is always something to do in the garden and the apartment, or you can go to the zoo or the museum, where you can easily involve the kids.

Wir wohnen im wunderschönen, grünen Wienerwald an einer (leider befahrenen) Straße in einem tollen, alten, großen Haus - zusammen mit allerlei Menschen in einer Art Familien-WG.
Durch den Garten fließt ein Bach, es gibt einen Teich und viel Natur & Getier - und trotzdem fahren vor der Tür mehrmals stündlich Busse, die in wenigen Minuten bei der U-Bahn sind (zur Stadtmitte etwa 35 Minuten).
In unserer Wohnung wohnen mit mir und meinem Partner 2 Kids und 1 Kater, und nachdem ich September, Oktober und November 2026 alleine mit den Kids bin, suche ich witzige, freundliche Gesellschaft und produktiven Support in dieser Zeit für die beiden Kids und mich. Die beiden Kleinen sind 1 und 5 Jahre alt, witzig, aktiv, laut und gern mit Menschen zusammen. Vormittags im Kindergarten, da hättest du immer frei und könntest Wien erkunden oder deinem digitalen Nomadenleben nachgehen - nachmittags so ab 15 Uhr bräuchte es dann gerne deinen Support, um sie zu Bespielen - es gibt auch im Garten und der Wohnung immer zu Tun, oder man geht in den Zoo, oder ins Museum, wo man die Kids gut einbinden kann.

Vienna offers a lot, of course - what we as a family offer as a "cultural exchange" is difficult to say from the inside, I find ;)
As a cultural anthropologist, perhaps like this: We are a white, hetero couple that is probably quite classic for Vienna's bourgeoisie, clearly politically left-wing, with two boys who have so far been quite gender-normative ;). Does something like that help?
What can I offer as a skill? I am a systemic coach and consultant for social organizations + can also accompany individuals in moments of change (just like a workaway can be;)), and can share non-violent communication with the kids as a skill. I am also a yoga teacher. Yes, and we are veggies, but nowhere fundamental, so feel free to eat horse liver cheese :).
I'm looking for someone funny, cheerful and warm-hearted and who also likes to chat in the evenings. I would also like someone who likes mindfulness or is roughly at peace with themselves as far as that is possible ;). I would also be happy to learn new recipes and if you are a foodie, I would also be very happy if you would like to whip up delicious dinners as part of your work. But no pressure, I'm happy about everyone who is cool with the kids and puts the plates in the dishwasher themselves.

Wien bietet ganz viel natürlich - was wir als Familie als "cultural exchange" anbieten lässt sich so von innen find ich grad eher schwer sagen, ;)
Als Kulturantrhopologin vielleicht so: Wir sind ein für Wiens Bürgertum ein wohl recht klassisches, weißes, hetero Paar, politisch klar links, mit zwei bislang recht gendernormativen Jungs ;). Hilft sowas?
Was kann ich als skill bieten? Ich bin systemische Coach und Beraterin für soziale Organisationen + kann auch Einzelpersonen begleiten in Veränderungsmomenten (wie ein workaway es ja auch irgendwie sein kann;)), und kann Gewaltfreie Kommunikation mit den Kids als skill sharen. Ich bin auch Yogalehrerin. Aja und wir sind Veggies, aber nirgends fundamental, also esst ruhig Pferdeleberkäse :).
ich freu mich über jemand witzigen, der fröhlich und warmherzig ist und auch gerne mal plaudert abends. Gerne auch jemand der Achtsamkeit mag oder grob mit sich im Reinen ist soweit das halt möglich ist ;). Ich würd mich auch freuen, neue Rezepte zu lernen und falls du ein Foodie bist, freu ich mich auch sehr wenn du als Arbeit leckere Abendessen zaubern magst. Aber no Pressure ich freu mich über alle, die zu den Kids cool sind und von selbst den Teller in den Geschirrspüler räumen.

I would like to have someone who can see for themselves what is currently needed and get involved directly; whether in the morning when hectically preparing breakfast or when a child just wants attention.
Overall, it's about being good company for the children, especially in the afternoon/early evening, making sure they don't fall down somewhere and having fun and being allowed to be themselves.
We have lots of instruments, craft supplies, books, Lego, etc., lots of nature and enough space for pillow castles or running games - so if you have the motivation and ideas for that, and can get involved with children full of ideas and energy, even dance with them in the rain (and hang up the wet things afterwards) or find a robber's meal under the table funny (and quickly wipe the floor afterwards), then you're perfect.
It would be great if German was understood/spoken so that the kids can take part in the contact, which is why I'm not writing in English here, but you don't need a native German speaker.
I will be here a lot, we can also do things together: shopping, gardening, housework, but above all there will always be the kids there, so no matter what we do, it will always be about having a good time for them and with them.
That's why I would like to have someone who loves children, who enjoys it and gets into relationships, likes to get to know the little ones and is not stressed when a child chases him/her or constantly interrupts the chatting between adults :)

Ich hätt gern jemand, der ein bisschen auch selbst sieht was grad gebraucht wird, und sich direkt einbringt; ob in der Früh beim hektischen Frühstück zubereiten oder wenn ein Kind grad Aufmerksamkeit will.
Im Großen geht es darum, den Kindern vor allem nachmittags / früher Abend eine gute Gesellschaft zu sein, schauen dass sie nicht irgendwo hinunterfallen und Spaß haben und sie selbst sein dürfen.
Wir haben viele Instrumente, Bastelzeug, Bücher, Lego uÄ, viel Natur und genug Platz für Kissenburgen oder Laufspiele - wenn du also dafür Motivation und Ideen mitbringst, und dich auf Kinder voller Ideen und Energie einlassen kannst, auch mal im Regen tanzt mit ihnen (und die nassen Sachen nachher aufhängst) oder ein Räuberessen unter dem Tisch witzig findest (und hinterher den Boden schnell wischt), dann bist du perfekt.
Es wär toll wenn Deutsch verstanden /gesprochen wird, damit die Kids teilhaben können an dem Kontakt, drum schreib ich hier jetzt auch nicht in Englisch, aber es braucht keinen Native Deutsch Speaker.
Ich werde viel hier sein, wir können gern auch Sachen zusammen erledigen: einkaufen, Gartenarbeit, Hausarbeit, aber es werden vor allem immer die Kids dabei sein, also egal was wir tun, wird es immer auch drum gehen, für sie und mit ihnen eine gute Zeit zu machen.
Drum hätt ich gern jemand kinderlieben, die/der sich dran freut und in Beziehung geht, die Kleinen kennenlernen mag und nicht gestresst ist wenn ein Kind ihn/sie verfolgt oder das Plaudern unter Erwachsenen ständig unterbricht :)

Beautiful room: an old veranda (well insulated with new windows, not a hovel ;)) with Viennese Art Nouveau tiled floors and a beautiful 19th century chaise longue. Complete with adjoining bathroom just for you (and the cat). There is a grand piano, guitar, ukulele and other instruments. There's currently no bed inside, but we'll get that sorted in time, don't worry :). The rest of the apartment is large and offers enough space to be alone sometimes. :)
We almost always have cereal for breakfast, but if you don't like that, we can try something else. At lunchtime we tend to have cold plates/salads/self-service from the fridge, and in the evening we cook something healthy for the kids early, although the kids often only eat pasta :).

Schönes Zimmer: eine alte Veranda (gut gedämmt mit neuen Fenstern, keine Bruchbude ;)) mit Wiener Jugendstil Fliesen Boden und schönen Jahrhundert-Recamiere. Samt angrenzenden Badezimmer nur für dich alleine (und die Katze). Es gibt einen Flügel, Gitarre, Ukulele und sonstige Instrumente. Aktuell steht noch kein Bett drinnen, aber das erledigen wir dann rechtzeitig, keine Sorge :). Die restliche Wohnung ist groß und bietet genug Raum, auch mal alleine zu sein. :)
Zu Frühstück gibt es bei uns fast immer Müsli, aber wenn du das nicht magst, können wir was anderes auch checken. Mittags eher kalte Platten/Salate/Selbstbedienung am Kühlschrank, und abends kochen wir früh für die Kids was Gesundes, wobei die Kids dann oft nur Nudeln essen :).

Unser alter, gemütlicher Tiger ist ein höflicher Gentlemen, schläft viel, streift durch den Wald und macht keine Probleme, außer er ist mit unserem Service unzufrieden :)
