Description
We are a young family of 5. (3 boys age 3, 6 and 9). My husband Edward is a chef/baker/restaurant owner originally from Somerset in the UK who loves jiujitsu. I am half Japanese and half Canadian. I am a shoe designer who loves ceramics. We moved to Normandy in 2020. Our property consists of several houses set in approx 25 acres of forest and farmland. Apart from our businesses of cheffing and shoe making we have a small personal 1000sqm vegetable garden, chickens, and land that we need help with. We are looking to build a few things this year, a wood shed (as our home is entirely heated with wood), a compost shed (to become more self-sufficient for our vegetable garden), expand the chicken coup, and a old wood fired kiln (I hope to start experimenting more with Raku). This is also combined with general gardening as well as harvesting for the food we eat etc.
We have a workshop and are fairly well equipped for woodwork, and metal work projects with the view of building a forge. We are 15 mins from the ocean where there are an array of activities to be had (kite surfing, fishing, sailing etc) also loads of hiking and cycling in the area. We are located 2.5km from a town that has all kinds of bars, restaurant, cinema, coffee shop, shopping etc. We are ideally looking for someone to help with work on projects with us... We have a self contained 1 bedroom apartment available that could work for a couple, a single person or a small family. We speak English at home but are all fluent in French.Types of help and learning opportunities

This part of Normandy is absolutely beautiful. We would be expecting aprox 20 hours help a week and are flexible for allowing time to explore Normandy. Being a food family we cook a lot and will provide meals for any days spent working on our home projects. There is plethora of outdoor activities in our are... Horse riding, hiking, fishing, kitesurfing camping...we re near Calvados and are fully in cider country.... There are small islands off our shores that are great for exploring. We are also 3.5 hours from Paris (trains run approx 10 times a day).....
