    Description

Hi Everybody! We are Marco (40 yo), Carolina (41 yo), Giorgia Rose (5yo), Sara (2 yo). We live in Genoa (Liguria, Portofino and Cinque Terre region in Nothern Italy) a town on the sea, but also near country and mountain side. Less than 2 hours from Milan by train, about 3 hours from Florence.

Marco is an engineer, he is often on business trip to India, Algeria, China, Nothern Europe and more. He loves travels, wood carving, fitness and Juventus football club.

Carolina is a nursery teacher. She formerly worked as educator with children and teenagers.
From 2002 to 2010 she was a member of a local music folk group which she often went abroad for cultural exchanges with.

Giorgia Rose loves swimming, drawing, dancing, spending time with friends and inventing stories using her extraordinary imagination.

Sara is living the terrible two phase... he can be super sweet and kind but one minute later he screams and gets angry.... She Is very friendly and she loves food!!!!! She loves her sister.

On our free time we hike, cook, travel, listen to music, play board and cards games, spend time with friends. We often go on short trips in the weekend and we meet friend on friday and saturday night, or on sundays.
We are open to meet new people and new cultures. We think that Work Away is a great opportunity of personal growth for each member of our family.

Come Experience Genoa: The Hidden Gem of Italy ( The following text comes from the web, and we can say that it is all true!! :) )

Are you ready for an adventure in one of Italy's most enchanting and vibrant cities? Genoa, a city that’s often overlooked by tourists, is the perfect destination for people looking for a cultural, inspiring, and authentic Italian experience. From its breathtaking seaside views to its rich history, Genoa offers a unique blend of old-world charm and modern energy. Whether you're looking for art, history, food, or nature, Genoa has something for everyone.

Here’s why Genoa should be your next home for a few months or even longer:

    1. Rich Cultural Heritage

Genoa has a history that spans over 2,000 years and is filled with fascinating stories and landmarks. As the birthplace of renowned explorer Christopher Columbus, the city is brimming with history and art. Explore its stunning medieval old town, one of the largest in Europe, and wander its narrow streets that seem frozen in time.

    2. The Stunning Ligurian Coastline

Genoa is situated on the Ligurian coast, which means breathtaking views and easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches and seaside towns in Italy. The famous Cinque Terre is just a short train ride away, where you can explore colorful cliffside villages and enjoy crystal-clear waters.

    Popular Coastal Spots:

Boccadasse: A picturesque fishing village, perfect for a stroll or to enjoy the view of the sea.

Nervi and Camogli: Known for its stunning promenade along the coast and beautiful parks.

    3. Gastronomic Delights

Italian food is world-famous, and Genoa offers its own unique culinary treasures. Pesto—the iconic basil sauce—is originally from this region, and you’ll want to try it fresh, paired with the famous trofie pasta. Not to mention, the city’s focaccia is a must-try, often served warm with olives or cheese.

    4. A City for Nature Lovers

Beyond the city’s urban landscape, Genoa is surrounded by lush green hills, perfect for hiking and outdoor activities. The city’s parks and gardens provide a peaceful escape and stunning views over the Gulf of Genoa.

    5. Vibrant Nightlife and Events

Genoa has a lively nightlife scene, with plenty of bars, clubs, and cafés where you can enjoy a relaxed evening with friends. The city's artistic energy also means that there are regular events, from music festivals to art exhibitions and theater performances.

    6. Easy Travel Connections

Genoa’s central location on Italy’s northwest coast makes it the perfect base for exploring other regions of Italy and beyond. With direct train connections to Milan, Rome, and the French Riviera, you can easily escape for weekend trips to cities like Florence, Venice, or even Nice and Monaco.

    7. Affordable Living

Compared to other major Italian cities like Milan or Rome, Genoa offers a more affordable lifestyle. Rent is reasonable, and you can enjoy a high quality of life without breaking the bank. This makes it an ideal destination for young people looking for a cultural immersion without the overwhelming costs of bigger cities.

    8. A Perfect Blend of Tradition and Modernity

Genoa strikes a beautiful balance between the old and the new. From the grand Porto Antico—a bustling harbor filled with restaurants and attractions—to the modern shopping areas, Genoa has a bit of everything. You’ll find quirky boutiques, trendy cafés, and charming squares filled with locals and travelers alike.

    Why Genova?

Living in Genoa means immersing yourself in a city that combines rich history, stunning landscapes, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're an art lover, a nature enthusiast, a foodie, or someone who loves the sea, Genoa offers endless opportunities to create unforgettable memories. It’s not just a place to visit—it’s a place to live, learn, and grow.

Come and make Genoa your home for a while—you won’t regret it!
