Description
Hi! We are a German/Irish family of 5 living in Co Mayo in the West of Ireland. Our children are 21, 18 and 17. We have a small equestrian yard with showjumpers and Icelandic horses. We also have goats, pigs, cats, chickens, dogs. Our dogs and cats are living in the house with us. We enjoy going to the beach as a family, sometimes we take the horses. We love watching Gaelic football and going to matches. We are a very busy and active household but enjoy sitting down as a family in the evening to have dinner and watch a movie or play games. We live roughly 8km from the nearest town with a big supermarket, bus connections, football pitches and golf course. We also live 15/20 minutes from Ireland West Airport.
We also have a Hot tub and a small pool.
Ireland is still in the EU, EU citizens do not need a VISA.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are a German/Irish household. As part of this everyone in the house speaks Germans and English. Ireland has its own native language which is Irish this is also spoken in small amounts in this household.
We can teach basic German and Irish to anyone who is interested as well as helping them to improve their English.
We are actively involved in Irish sports, such as Gaelic Football. Gaelic football is a native Irish sport that is a mixture of basketball, soccer, rugby and volleyball. We imported our Icelandic Horses from Iceland. Icelandic horses have 5 gaits, walk, trot, tolt, canter and pace. Horses are a massive part of Icelandic culture, and we fully embrace that.Help
We mostly need help with looking after the horses. This would include mucking out, cleaning the yard, feeding, turning out, helping to organise for horse shows. Riding is also available for the right person.
Other small jobs would include helping with the smaller farm animals, general farm maintenance and gardening.
There are plenty of odd jobs such as DIY, fencing and miscellaneous tasks that come up as part of a running working farm.Languages
