Description
Hi everyone!
We are a family living in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, about 25 km from Florence. We love nature, animals, good company and getting to know people from all over the world. We’re very easy-going, and sharing cultures is truly one of our passions.
We live in Carmignano, a small village of around 1200 people, in an historic villa from the 1600s. The house is full of character, surrounded by fields and olive trees, with a breathtaking view of the classic Tuscan hills — just like in the photos.
Because the villa is old and always needs a bit of care, we would love to host volunteers who enjoy practical tasks and being outdoors. Everything we do is simply for the upkeep of our home and land, not business-related.
The help we need includes:
Garden and field maintenance: keeping outdoor areas tidy and pretty.
Maintenance and pruning in our olive field, depending on the season. In autumn we also harvest the olives to produce our own olive oil (for personal use only, not business related)
Help around the house, such as simple cleaning in the house/kitchen, and helping us cooking and preparing dishes.
And of course, spending time with our dog, who loves company, and looking after our dear Olli when we can’t. ;)))
We warmly welcome friendly, energetic people who enjoy nature and want to experience an authentic slice of rural Tuscany.
You’ll be surrounded by peaceful landscapes, beautiful sunsets, and the charm of living in a unique historic home.
You will be provided with food and you will have the possibility to cook with us our in our kitchen :))
We would also like to add that volunteers won't be helping with maintenance of the BnB or any other tasks related to paying guests.
We look forward to meeting you! 🌿✨

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
here you can learn bit of Italian and Italian culture and cuisine and all about the production of olive oil!
Florence is very accessible, since there are trains and busses to get there!
Many other tuscan cities and villages are not far from here! Lucca, Vinci and Pisa are an example.
Having a car is always a plus here, but don't worry public transportation is on until about 7/8 PM
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
As the house is quite ancient and big, it is not easy for us to keep it clan and tidy all the time.
As a matter of fact, we are looking for someone who can help us with this and give a hand also with some gardening outside (such as watering plants). It would be wonderful if this person could also help in cooking!!
From the month of October we need help with the olives picking (which is going to last approximately 1 month and a half, depending on the amount of work!)
We will also need help picking some wood. :)

it's a very peaceful spot, so you can get to meditate or do yoga in complete silence! we have also a "relax area" which you can use!
