  • Description

My Name is Mwesi, I am the founder and team leaders of a youth led community based organisation established in 2015 in East Africa working to promote the health and well being of specifically youths and children living in rural area of Uganda through Empowerment activities, Health Education and information, and providing a platform that fosters youth participation in development.
We use different channels to empower and build the capacity of young people and children, these include School outreaches, school debates, community dialogues, youth camps, medical camps, vegetable farming, bakery among others.

We are a growing organisation and we get our resources locally from farming mainly, community contributions and friends of the organisation.
As of now we can only afford to work with volunteers both local and international who have been instrumental in contributing to welfare of the communities.
Our community and leaders are very welcoming and are always happy to hear that our organisation has hosted a volunteer from other countries. They give full support and always make sure the volunteer is safe, happy and making friends.

You are very welcome to Uganda. (Butaleja District)

Some houses have a cemented floor and the walls are made of bricks and other houses are made of grass thatched roof but professionally designed to provide comfort to the guests. There is a pit latrine constructed outside the houses.
Volunteers are free to come with camping tents to help in community camps and for convenience.
There is a wide, green compound with a number of fruits like oranges, mangoes, pawpaws, jack fruit, avocados among others.
Each volunteer will be allocated a separate room, within the main house, a bed, mattress and pair of bed sheets though volunteers are encouraged to carry their bedsheets.
Sometimes volunteers may be requested to share a room especially if they came together or know each other.
