This place is first of all a home, our home. We, Erica(40), Camilla (10) e Francesco(12) are living here together with the horses. The idea of this place was to create a special pension for the horses, far away from the traditional concepts of horseboarding. This project was created out of love for the horses and the wish to make them live as happy and natural as possible.
Other then horses, we live along with goats, chickens, ducks, Ettore, our faithful, lovely guardian dog, Rucola and Merlino the cats and Fred, the pig.
We are supported by a little team of likeminded, horseloving people:
Mariano(60),old-school italian handyman of the farm, Sonny(35), the groomer of the herd, who came 5 years ago from kashmire-India to take care of our horses, Elena(21) a young talented woman from germany who is really passionated about nature, animals and kids and Titto(28) from Rome, an enthusiastic and solution oriented apprentice of Erica, leading the project to evolve the farm into an eco-community.
Together we want to make this project grow and develop.

Aside from all the new inputs and possibilities that the farm-life provides, you will benefit from the calm and peaceful envoirnment the farm brings with it. Breathing fresh, clean air, being in nature and with animals, helps to calm down our minds, feel our bodies and connect with our own nature.
You will be part of a multi-cultural team, living in community, eat yummy, local and organic food, meet interesting people, discover and learn the basics of the italian culture and language and of course explore the area.
In addition you'll have the opportunity to experience and discover the real nature of a horse, outside boxes and stables, how they comunicate with each other , their social structures and hierachies, their "horsenalities" and behaviours.
We believe horses are the best teacher about self-development, so if you are willing to learn and grow, this will be the right place at the right time for you!
Being a farm, there is always lots to do. Most of the activities take place in the morning, so it is important that you are not afraid to get up early, get tired and dirty!
We ask daily help and support with:
animal care: giving a hand during the morning check of the horses, grooming, feeding, cleaning the paddock, looking after the small animals of the farm
general mantainance, such as helping Mariano with fixing and improving the farm facilities
keep the farm tidy and clean
collecting and chopping woods from the forest
and any other random mission farmlife reveals, so be prepared to be flexible and creative! ;)
Apart from daily support we are looking for a volunteer with building skills (possibly natural building) as we want to transform the saddle room into a shared dorm for volunteers, aside with compost toilet and showers.
If you have skills and ideas that could help us regarding those projects, please get in contact with us, we'd be excited to host you! :)

Our farm is located just a stone's throw from the amazing “Manziana’s Woodlands Forest “, 800 hectars of woods , wild nature and tracks of ancient civilizations. We are also situated at walk distance from the Caldara, a truly unique and special place, recognized as Natural Monument. It is a marshy area, characterized by the sulphurous waters that bubble up from underground; In the closer surroundings there are plenty of interesting heritage sites and natural beauty like the picturesque waterfalls of Castel Giuliano , the borgo of Tolfa , the Ghost city of Canale Monterano, the thermal park of Stigliano , Lake and Castle of Bracciano , the natural reserve of Martignano’s Lake and the Thyrrenian Sea with Santa Severa Castle and Santa Marinella beaches. Manziana’s village is about 1h drive from the metropolis of Rome, with which it’s very well connected through trains and bus every day.
