Description
As a Melbourne native, I am passionate about my city and think it is truly one of the greatest places to spend time in. I relish the opportunity to show others around the place I grew up and am deeply familiar with.
We are an environmentally conscious, progressive family of four living in Melbourne's north. Our house has a beautiful native garden and is minutes walk from the Darebin Creek. We are friendly, welcoming and generous. We love Australia's natural environment and take opportunity to get out into nature whenever we can (bushwalking, swimming etc).

We're excited to share our knowledge of life in Melbourne. As stated, I have lived in Melbourne my whole life, so know the best places to explore both in the city as well as the best spots in Victoria. We are generous and flexible and would want anyone staying with us to treat the place like their own. Please get in touch if you are interested.

Help
We’re a family of four living in Melbourne's inner northeast, with two young kids (ages 2 and 4). We work hard like most modern families- I am a secondary school teacher also studying part time and Neil is a mechanical engineer working in renewable energy. We’re looking for someone who can give us a hand with childcare here and there, as well as household maintaintence jobs.
This would include:
- Interacting/ playing with the children
- Flexible childcare minding around work hours and for a portion of the weekend (hours and time would need to be negotiated).
- Help around busy times of the day (getting out of the house in the morning and the bedtime routine).
- Gardening and general house upkeep and maintainance.
In terms of the person we are seeking, these qualities would be ideal:
- Someone who likes being around little kids and shows initiative and creativity around the house, espeically when engaging the kids or contributing to the day to day house operations.
- A good communicator, easy going and reliable
- A quick learner
- A curious, open minded traveller who likes getting out and exploring their surroundings.
- Likes being around others but also happy spend time alone.
- Someone looking to stay for a longer period (6 weeks or more)
- We are also only accepting one person at a time and women above the age of 20.
- Tidy around the house.
We can offer a comfortable room, healthy food, and plenty of free time to explore Melbourne. We live walking distance to public transport, making exploring the city and surrounds easy.
We would love to have a chat if you are interested, so please get in touch.

Because the role involves regular childcare, we ask that applicants provide a current police-clearance/child-safe check from their home country (or equivalent). Once in Australia we will also ask them to apply for the Victorian Working With Children Check. References and a video chat will be part of our screening. Our child's safety is paramount and we will ensure we take the necessary steps to protect them when hosting.
