Description
We live on a former farm in Upper Bavaria on the edge of the beautiful Alps. Our farm is located on the edge of the village, surrounded by fields and meadows on a large plot of land (4000 square meters) with a lake, fruit trees, and a large greenhouse. The view of the Alps, the Zugspitze, Alpspitze, and Estergebirge mountains is breathtakingly beautiful. We are a large family with five children and one grandchild. Our daughter, 19, and our youngest son, 17, still live with us, and the other children visit regularly. Our Vizsla dog is always with us too.
Not far from us are the famous Ammer and Starnberger lakes. In summer, these are wonderful places for swimming and boating. In winter, it's not far to the nearest ski slopes in the Alps. If you feel like visiting the city, Munich is only about 50 minutes away by train.
We work full-time in our professions. My husband Rolf is a publisher and I work in my private medical practice for Chinese Medicine. Our farm is not a commercial one, we are only private. Gardening etc. is only for own consumption.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are a family with many different interests and skills. In addition to introducing you to gardening and practical tasks with trees, wood, and animals, we are professionally involved in medicine, education, and publishing. Anyone who is interested can share in our knowledge. We also enjoy the mountains, where we can go on hiking trips together.
In Bavaria, it is common to hike, climb, and ski in the mountains. Here, you can also go on mountain tours with the Alpine Club and meet new people.
We have always been in contact with people from different countries and cultures. We love getting to know other cultures and ways of life. We speak fluent English and also quite good French, but we are also happy to teach German.

Help
Help in our garden begins in spring.
Fruit trees need to be pruned, lawns mowed, and the greenhouse prepared for planting. We grow our own vegetables, lettuce, and herbs in the greenhouse.
Our lake is another project. (It needs to be cleaned in spring so that it can be used for swimming in summer.)
Wood must also be stacked and stored for the winter, as we heat our house exclusively with wood. Here, wood must be sawn, split, and stacked. All the necessary machinery for gardening and woodworking is available.
Our beloved dog also enjoys walks in nature and loving company.
All the help on our farm we do together, as helping together makes everything more enjoyable.
Since we work full-time in our professions, we do the gardening and housework in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends.

Accommodation
We live in a large former typical Bavarian farmhouse with approximately 300 square meters of living space. There is also a sauna area with its own shower room that can be used. Our guest has their own room on the top floor (in the attic) with approximately 18 square meters and a beautiful view to the south of the mountains. Our daughter and youngest son have their rooms on the same floor. There is a private bathroom with a bathtub on the floor.
On the ground floor, there is a large kitchen (25 square meters) with a dining room and a large living room for everyone. From here, you can also access the large terrace with a view to the south of the Alps. This is where a large part of our family life takes place in spring, summer, and fall.
We usually cook and eat together in the evening. We also have breakfast together on weekends.
We usually prepare breakfast and dinner together. We are happy to coordinate all other meals. There is a large kitchen with plenty of food always available. Food that we do not source from our garden is mostly purchased from local farmers. We are open to all dietary habits, whether you like to eat meat, prefer vegetarian or vegan. Everything is taken care of. We also have a professional water filtration system (reverse osmosis) so that clean and energized water is always available.
