  • Description

    Description

Family of 6, with grown children living away but often visiting. The farm has milking goats, sheep, a sheepdog and two cats.

We run one of the largest dairy goat farms in Norway, with a fairly new goat house. The past years we have invested in labour saving machines.

On our farm we have many buildings, so there is allways a need for maintenance.

We need help with the daily routines on our goat farm. This means taking care of and milking our 250 goats. From February till May we also have about 100 baby goats that need to be fed and cared for. Work-awayers visiting in the springtime April and May must be prepared for relatively much work, caring for the kid goats and other daily odd jobs. We also have a small herd of sheep that needs daily attention. On a farm of this size two days are never the same and thus never boring. The work is rewarding and the animals are very social and explorative.

We welcome longterm workawayers that can stay 4-5 weeks or more. Check calendar for availability

The work will in short be:
    - Milking goats in a rotoary milking parlor
    - Feeding goats and sheep
    - Brushing and daily cleaning of the animal house
    - Outdoor odd jobs
    - Painting in the summertime

In your application, please include information on your:
    - English skills
    - Experience with animals
    - Experience with building and painting
    - Other relevant experience
    - How long you could stay for
    - If you have any special requirements

Experiance the arctic light and the aurora borealis. You can go for hikes in the mountains in the summer, fish in one of the lakes on the farm, participate in the herding of the goats in the mountain. Great ski-terrain during the winter. The sea is also within walking distance.
