You will learn to live with animals and to become sensitized to them. In addition to putting into practice your technical skills and learn from others: Construction, veterinary, animal rehabilitation, training, animal grooming, etc. And you will also have the opportunity to live together and meet people of other nationalities and locals.
We require you to give the animals company, food, water, baths, walks, supervision, medication, clean their place, to build houses for them and for the people who stay with us. Mainly living here to give them confidence in the process of rehabilitation.
Our place is located within the "Mirador Nature Reserve" where, in addition to helping animals, you will also be able to attend many activities that take place in the reserve such as energy classes, mayan kung fu, kin maya and runes classes, mayan healing, sweat lodge, workshops and mayan ceremonies.
Volunteers will have the option of staying inside the shelter in communal cabins, campers, and tents. Blankets will be provided by us. There is also the option of staying in cabins 20 minutes up the mountain from where the shelter is located within the Reserve (The purified water to drink is provided in the shelter but you have to carry it up the mountain).
In general all the cabins are communal, rustic, in harmony with nature, with mattresses, blankets and pillows. For all of the options we have dry toilets, and rustic showers.
We cook and eat together and share the costs of food.
You can visit the magical city of San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas. As well as the various tourist areas around such as: Chiflón waterfalls, San Juan Chamula town, Palenque ruins, Agua Azul Waterfalls, Yaxchilan ruins, Zinacantan town, Sumidero´s Canyon and a great variety of beautiful places in Chiapas.
