  • Description

    Description

We are a group of 3 people living in a former monastery in Almelo (a small city in the east of the Netherlands near the border of Germany). We share our home with 7 homeless people. Together we share the meals and clean the house. Also we have a nice and quiet garden and at another location a vegetable garden.
We live almost in the old center of the city and 10 minutes of the railwaystation.

To use drugs is not possible. Alcohol drinks (beer and wine) are limited and only given by the staff after 21.00 uur.

We are grateful for your interest in our project and people and for offering your help. At the moment we have people who were born in Iran, Georgië, Vietnam, Germany and the Netherlands.
In return you can have a lifetime experience to live for a while with people who loose their home because they are refugee, divorced or met violence in their relationship or have other problems. Although we have people from different countries we speak Dutch in the house special at the meal.
We hope that you will understand that. So if you like to improve your Dutch your very welcome.

You will have your own private room but share toilet, bathroom and kitchen. Normally we have the meals together but at your day off you can make your own food in a small separate kitchen. With breakfast and lunch there are not much people to talk with. Sometimes only the staff.
We eat meat, fish and vegetarian food. We have no vegan meals.

In your free time you can visit Almelo or take a train to other cities. We have bics for cycling and you can walk and swim in the countryside. To visit Germany is also easy. In the chapel in our house you can do your meditation or yoga. Two times a day we have a special moment of prayer (morning and evening). If you like you can join us.
