Hello!
Updated. Spring 2026!
We are a family of 4 in Selfoss, Iceland. 2 parents, 2 little girls (aged 3 and 4). I am originally from Canada and my partner from Iceland.
The town of Selfoss is located about 40 min from Reykjavik, Icelands capital, and here we run a small restaurant and need a little help with our home and watching our little girls while we are at work during the summer days.
The kids are on summer break for July and part of August. We need help for the 2nd two weeks of July (full time,) then once they are back in kindergarten in August we need help just a little before or after school, with some small household tasks. But the days would be mostly yours to enjoy!
We are looking for someome who wants to learn about life in Iceland and be a part of our family.
Working hours would range from 20-30h/week with one weekend on and one off. Compensation for work will be given.
We have a lovely room in our home just for you (bed with bedding, closet, wifi) and a door that locks. We would of course share the kitchen and bathroom, we would include you in meals and outings if you wanted to join us.

Small household tasks. Dishes, tidying, light meal prep, folding laundry ect. As well as childcare for 2 lovely (and a bit crazy) girls.

Accommodation
A lockable room with a single bed, that can turn into a double if needed. A closet and shelf. Free Wife of course. Bedding, towels and that sort of thing we will provide. As well as free laundry. Food and lodging provided as a trade for work. Extra compensation is available as well.
Shared bathroom, kitchen and livingroom. 15 min walk to the city centre (or 5 min drive). 10 min walk to a grocery store.

We also have a small hypoallergenic dog who loves to snuggle.
