Luc is a freelance social artist who is dedicated to providing underprivileged children with the therapeutic experience of creating art.
This unique experience comes in the form of them painting large Murals in the streets of their community. A team of artists work closely with the children to encourage and provide the children with materials. The murals are painted entirely by the children, with the intention to learn a new skill, express a specific topic and to brighten up the atmosphere.
No member of our team receive any financial gain, in fact, they donate a lot of their own money and time to make these projects posable. Payment for us comes in the form of being apart of the fun.

Adventure and personal growth. From our own experience, we can tell you that this will be a journey of discovery and an invaluable learning ground. Every day is different and offers new surprises, a lot of which will take place outside of your comfort zone.
Travel. If you want, you can grasp the opportunity to see a lot of the country (and beyond) as the project is very widespread and constantly growing.
The real world, South Africa. You will get to experience a range of colourful communities and environments that are otherwise not easily accessible to foreigners.
Surfing. If you are already a surfer, then you will be doing a lot more of it. If you would like to learn, there is nothing we love more than introducing others to it.
Happy Days. You will get to spend time with the most beautiful, funny and heart-warming kids that will make you cry with laughter, together with a team that loves what they do. Every day.
If you have a CV that outlines your experience, that’s great, but not a pre-requisite. The real pre-requisite is STOKE and PASSION.
We look forward to welcoming you in South Africa!
At this moment Luc does not have a sustainable fundraising system for this amazing project.
He is primarily looking for individuals that have experience in fundraising and marketing.
Other skills that would help:
Social media output. We’d love you to take photos of what we do and post them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Along with the stories of the amazing moments we share with the kids, the change it creates in them and how it impacts their community. An understanding of how these platforms work is important, as we use social media as our main outreach and advertiser. If you are able to help us grow our social media presence that would hugely benefit the project.
Project Management: we want to build a long-term plan for the project, meaning we are on the lookout for someone who can join our project on a long-term basis. We are using the work-away program to help us find that individual.
As we live and work in a guest house/backpackers, you will be expected to lend a helping hand. for example, check in guests if we are not around and to be polite and socialize with guests.
Our main focus is a passion for the project. We very much want you to love what you do as much as we do.
It is important that you are a positive, confident and independent individual that is open-minded and loves kids. A sense of humour will also go a long way.
English and a bit of Afrikaans or Xhosa.
We live and work in a guest house/backpackers. You will be sleeping in a 4 bed dorm with all meals provided.
