  • Description

Ecocommunity project at the magical cenote ixchel.
We are a group of people from different countries starting an environmental alliance in Tulum.
At the heart of our location is a very large beautiful cenote...
We are looking for people to help with eco-construction, bamboo, coco-cement, suspended tree houses as well as other eco friendly building techniques.
We are also looking for people to help us with cooking, cleaning up the cenote, underwater cleaning, as well as gardening and planting.

Our vision is to create a tribal horizontal holistic community as well as a space that can focus on addressing and finding solutions for the environmental problems that the region faces, (waste management, water, algae, forest protection among other issues). For this we need help to create beautiful and eco-friendly living spaces for residents and others who will be participating in future projects.

We have around 5hq, so we have a lot of space, there is spaces with grass and sand around the cenote in case you have your own tent or hammock, we also have some tree houses and glamping tents, as well as a few palapas that may be available depending on the season and timing. We prefer longer stays
Meals will be served monday through friday, and weekends volunteers will have to get their own supplies and cook for themselves in our communal kitchen.
We ask that those intending to come can be very conscious about their waste, to try to avoid plastic as much as possible, as well as not bring coca-cola or other multinational products.
Meals are vegan and vegetarian and we ask not to cook any non vegetarian products in our communal kitchen.
    and...No alcohol please.
Please try to bring your own sleeping bag or sheets, blankets. Having a tent could be a plus.
Soap, toothpaste, shampoo you bring needs to be biodegradable. And the containers need to be recyclable or taken with you when it’s empty.
Arrivals are usually on monday morning and departure on friday evening or saturday morning.

    What else ...

Our wonderful cenote is our main attraction, you can take a brake to go for a dip, snorkel or scuba dive. The area is quiet and pretty private though its also quite conveniently located. Its relatively easy to take a ride to town or take a bike there. We are surrounded by a luscious jungle and there are many paths and roads to other cenotes just a walk away.
The town is 8km away, where you can find pretty much anything you need from a town.
There are also ruins and many other activities that tulum offers.
