  • Description

We are starting something completely new and different. Our dream is to live a beautiful, self-sustained life connected with the land/nature we live on with anyone who also wants to live differently.

This project is all about learning: how to build from the materials in our land, to grow plants, trees and raise animals without any chemicals and in connection with nature.

Think Garden of Eden, a paradise away from the world. We are located in the Peruvian mountainous jungle, far off the beaten path.

    So far we have:
-Built an access road and drive up to the worksite
    -Built a rain cover/shelter
    -Built a powerhouse
-Set up a full solar system and built a stand for solar panels(so we have power!)
-Set up satellite internet(Only good for basic communication use)
-Poured the foundation for the community kitchen/ living room /dining room space
-The posts and first part of the roof structure is up
    -A composting outhouse
-Build the first part of the fence to keep cows out
-Explored forests for future building site
-Moved most of the building materials to the building site

We recently bought this land and now are transforming it into our home in natural ways. Each project is full of love and inspired by the nature. Each house will be different, think: Treehouse, dome, earth house, and more!

Some of the projects for this month alone:
-Building trout ponds, planting a permaculture fruit forest, garden, and bamboo.
-Building 1-2 composing outhouses/bathrooms, outdoor wood-heated shower. compost system and chicken house.
-Building the community kitchen, powerhouse and setting up the solar system
-Building a fence and wooden entrance gates so our neighbor's cows don't eat all our plants
-Building platforms for tents, starting to build 2-3 cabins(at least 1 will be an eco treehouse, some will be made of bamboo and one might be a dome)
-Building a wood-stove heated natural hot tub

Join us at the very beginning of this powerful and beautiful project of building, growing, living and being in harmony with nature.

Learn as we learn, get your hands in the soil and help us build up and grow from the very bottom. We are at very humble beginnings and don't have much to offer other than hot family-style meals, love, a family environment, and lots and lots of raw untouched natural mountainous rainforest.

In your spear time hike through the jungle, hunt for births, bugs, butterflies, hummingbirds, soak in the river, enjoy the sun and disconnect from the world while connecting deeply with nature and yourself.

A little about us: My name is Laura, I'm from Germany than grew up in Canada, and have been living in Peru for 2 years. My husband is Peruvian, we met while I was traveling in Peru, he's a website designer and very detail-oriented when it comes to our projects. My parents decided to join the project a few months ago and will also be living here. And then we have my younger but taller brother, he has a lot of building experience and is an excellent chef, he is here full time working with us. And lastly, we have 3-7 incredible workers working with us to make the project move forward faster and more skillfully.
