Description
Hi, I'm Daniel and my wife Kerly and I live in Ambato, Ecuador. We have 3 children (ages 7, 2 and newborn). I am from Utah, USA and my wife is from here in Ecuador. She and the children are in the process of learning English. We would love to host English speakers here in Ambato, Ecuador who can practice English with us.

Ambato is the city of flowers. My family and I love this beautiful, small city in Ecuador! It's a great place to live as it is right in the center of the country and close to many popular areas. We are right between Quito and Guayaquil, not far from the beach to the west and the jungle to the right.
If you like a beautiful city that is also not overly touristy, Ambato is a perfect place to get to know Ecuadorian culture from locals living their everyday lives. The cost of living is lower compared to some more touristy locations such as Baños or Cuenca. There are stunning parks, nice restaurants, malls and beautiful places to go hiking all around the city (it's located in the mountains). The weather is wonderful, not too cold, not too hot. Bring warm clothes as it gets cold at night.
The neighborhood we live and work in (Ciudadela España) is clean, peaceful, safe, colorful and has an incredible view of the surrounding mountains.Projects involving children

Help
We are happy to host English speakers who can take some time to formally practice English with my wife, Kerly and our 7-year-old son. Speaking Spanish is not a requirement. Hours are completely flexible and you will have plenty of time to explore and get to know the beautiful city of Ambato and Ecuadorian culture.

I am a native English speaker and am fluent in Spanish. My wife is a native Spanish speaker learning English. I would love for her and my kids to practice more English and we would love to practice Spanish with you as well.Accommodation
We have a spare room in our spacious 4-bedroom apartment that you are welcome to stay in free of charge. There is a large window and plenty of closet space. We also have carpeted floors (not common in Ecuador) and curtains. The room has a lock and key. You are welcome to eat meals with us for free as well. We have 3 children and staying with us would be almost like becoming a member of the family. We ask that you chip in cleaning, wishing dishes, and perhaps cooking from time to time if you feel so inclined.
What else ...
In Ambato, here are some typical prices:
Traditional lunch — $2.50 - $5 (soup, rice, salad, some kind of meat, maybe some beans, maybe some plantains, maybe a slice of avocado and of course, fresh juice)
Taxi — $1.25 minimum, $2 across the city
Bus fare — $0.30 (within' the city)
Movie tickets — $2 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Clothes — comparable to US prices, but there are places to find cheap clothes
Shoe shine — $1 (very important... don't let them tell you a shine costs $13.50, speaking from personal experience)
Electronics — more expensive here than in the US
Parks — free
Walking — free
Biking — not recommended as cars don't respect bikers here, unfortunatelyA little more information
