Description
Hi Workawayers!
My name is Silvia, I am 34 years old and I lived in seven different countries already, and traveled to many more. I am a psychologist and a journalist and I came back to my hometown three years ago after spending ten years abroad.
I did lots of volunteering in many countries before and my passion is to travel, especially the way I used to do it by hitchhiking on a budget. I also love theater, climbing and I am currently doing a circus training in acrobatics. This time I decided to become a host to give back some of the hospitality and nice experiences that I received in the past and I hope we can create a nice bound and mutually benefit each other.
I speak fluent English, Catalan, Spanish and Dutch and I would like to practice French or Japanese (I'm in my third year).Types of help and learning opportunities
Art Projects
Language practice
Gardening
DIY and building projects
Help around the house
General Maintenance
Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I would love to help you learn Spanish or Catalan or cook typical dishes from the area :) Also, the hours are very flexible, so we can talk about your availability and you could help me more one day and have the next one free to explore the city or go somewhere else. I will try to provide one meal a day, lunch or dinner, and I will show you and recommend you the best spots in the city.
Help
I have a three-floor house in Barcelona (it was from my grandparents) and I need someone to help me organizing and clean stuff on one of the floors. One floor (where I live) is completely renovated with two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a huge terrace and I need to make space and organize another one to renovate it later on. I would also love to get some help in small upgrades where I live such as helping me to assemble Ikea furniture, making a palet couch for the terrace, helping me with the garden by picking up leaves or cutting the branches of trees, etc.
I have been a workawayer for many years and a long time traveller and now I thought of becoming a host myself and meet like-minded people to share my house with.Languages

You will have your own room with a bed, wardrobe and a desk. There is high-speed wifi and the house is located in a residential area so it's super quiet, perfect for digital nomads or people who likes silence at night. I could also host two people at once, either a couple (in a double bed) or two friends (in two separate beds). The house will be shared only with me and I would be gone some of the days so you will have the house to yourself.
