  Description

  Our farm is situated amidst the famous natural reserve in beautiful Southern Styria at about 700m altitude. Our family has worked on this property for more than a hundred years and we have always strived to live in harmony with our animals, the surrounding nature and other human beings. We value ecological and economical sustainability so following generations can still enjoy this little paradise.
  
  Three generations live on our farm: Gregor, 39, Bettina, 36, their three Kids (Julian, 10, Lena, 9, Sofie, 5) and our parents/in laws who live in a separate building. Thirty cattle, ten pigs, chicken, turkeys, ducks, cats, a dog and 2 horses live on the farm as well.
  
  We aspire to be self sufficient. At the farm we offer a natural goods store, where we sell our meat, herbal and other farm products. Visitors can enjoy our spacious herb garden for recreational purposes. We offer a small 'snack shack' with homemade drinks and food in self service. For accomodation for our guests we offer an apartment and a tiny house. We also offer regular classes in 'ancient traditional knowledge', for example baking, herbs, meat processing, scything and seed gathering.
  
  We wish for help in our high season from June to the end of October, mainly with help in the house and cooking, as well as work in the garden and childcare.
  
  We offer your own room with a bathroom, mainly organic food mostly from our garden (vegetarian fare possible). We love to share our knowledge and experience and a wide variety of topics while at work. We live with three generations on our farm, which is rather situated off the beaten tracks, but beautifully nestled in a breathtaking nature and soothing peace and quiet. The closest village is about eight minutes away by car.
  
  We are looking for motivated, open, curious and openminded people, who love to get to know our way of living within our family. We need responsible people who are physically fit, because some of the work can be physically challenging, for example work in the garden and harvesting. It is really important that our workawayers love to be around children and spend time with them. We expect you to work five hours, five days a week.
  
  We speak German and Slovene and can also communicate in English.
  No drugs and partys permitted. We expect you to stay at least two weeks with us.
  
  In your spare time you can enjoy the wonderful nature around us by going on hikes (hiking path is right in front of our door), mountainbiking, nature and peace and quiet far off hectic and loud cities. In summertime we like to take you to various outings, like visits to the pool and pond or to Slovenia, Leibnitz, asf.
  
  It would be ideal if you are an omnivore, because we also harvest our animals after a reasonable time.

  Unser Bauernhof liegt auf ca. 700 m Seehöhe inmitten des Naturparks. Seit über 100 Jahren bewirtschaftet unsere Familie den Serschenhof. Wir waren dabei stets bemüht im EInklang mit Mensch, Tier und Natur zu arbeiten. Dabei ist uns die ökonomische Nachhaltigkeit sehr wichtig, sodass sich auch die nachfolgenden Generationen weiterhin in diesem kleinen Paradies wohlfühlen können.
  
  Auf unserem Hof leben drei Generationen: Gregor, 39, Bettina, 36, und ihre drei Kinder (Julian, 10, Lena, 9, Sofie,5). Unsere Eltern/Schwiegereltern leben in einem eigenen Gebäude vor Ort. Des Weiteren leben bei uns um die dreißig Rinder, zehn Schweine, Hühner, Puten, Enten, Hund, Katzen und zwei Pferde.
  
  Wir versuchen uns zum Großteil selbst zu versorgen. Es gibt einen Hofladen, in dem wir unsere Fleisch-, Kräuter- und Fruchtprodukte vermarkten. Den großen Kräutergarten können Besucher zum Entspannen nutzen. Es gibt auch eine Jausenstation in Selbstbedienung für unsere Gäste. Als Übernachtungsmöglichkeit bieten wir eine Ferienwohnung und einen "Schäferwagen" an. Am Serschenhof finden regelmäßig Kurse in den Bereichen "Altes Wissen", beispielsweise Brotbacken, Kräuter, Fleischverarbeitung, Sensenmähen, Saatgutvermehrung, statt.
  
  Wir wünschen uns in der arbeitsintensivsten Zeit (von Juni bis Ende Oktober) Unterstützung vor allem in den Bereichen Haushalt/Kochen, Garten/Kinder.
  
  Wir bieten ein eigenes Zimmer für Workawayer mit Badezimmer, eine vorwiegend biologische Verpflegung vorrangig aus dem eigenen Garten und Stall (vegetarische Kost möglich). Wir geben während der Arbeit auch gerne unser breitgefächertes Wissen weiter. Bei uns leben und arbeiten alle drei Generationen am Hof, der relativ abgelegen an der slowenischen Grenze liegt - dafür genießen wir die Aussicht und die herrliche Ruhe sehr! Der nächste Ort (Leutschach) liegt zirka 8min. entfernt.
  
  Wir sprechen am Hof Deutsch und Slowenisch und können auch in Englisch kommunizieren.
  
  Wir suchen motivierte, lebensfrohe, neugierige und wissbegierige Menschen, die Lust haben unsere Lebensweise mit unserer Familie kennenzulernen. Dabei ist Eigenverantwortung und körperliche Fitness unbedingt notwendig, da wir zum Teil (bei der Ernte, im Stall) relativ anstrengende körperliche Arbeiten zu erledigen haben. Da unsere Kinder viel mit dabei sind, ist es wichtig, dass unsere Workawayer gerne Zeit mit ihnen verbringen. Wir erwarten Mithilfe für fünf Tage, fünf Stunden am Tag. Die Arbeitszeit kann flexibel eingeteilt werden.
  
  Drogen und Partys sind am Hof nicht erlaubt. Mindestaufenthalt zwei Wochen.
  
  In der Freizeit können Workawayer in der atemberaubenden Natur rund um den Serschenhof wandern gehen (der Wanderweg geht direkt bei uns vorbei, Remschniggalm), Mountainbiken, die Natur und die Ruhe fernab von Hektik und Stress genießen. Im Sommer nehmen wir unsere Workawayer gerne mit zu diversen Aktivitäten und Ausflügen (Freibad, Badeteich, Leibnitz, Slowenien, usw.).
  
  Es wäre ideal, wenn du Allesesser bist, da wir einen ganzheitlichen Ansatz auf unserem Hof haben, und daher auch unsere Tiere nach einer angemessenen Zeit, ernten.
