    Description

We are a multilingual family, always in need of help. We have two children, a dog, a hamster and lots to do!

We love guests and love them even more when they are super helpful and willing to support the crazy life we live. We speak English, Portuguese, Spanish and German at home, but we live in a village, about 50 kilometers from Munich. Our two children only speak Portuguese. Our lifestyle is part of our desire to raise tolerant and open-minded children, they are 14 and 10 years old - so come help us expose our children to as many people, languages and cultures as possible. We will be happy to meet you :)

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We live in an extremely unique place. A village where everyone lives in peace.
It is a very "touristy" place for both German travelers and certainly foreign tourists. However, staying here for a while will allow you to experience life in Germany in a way that few (including Germans) do.
In addition to the culture here, the main attraction is nature. The village is close to the Alps, where we can enjoy the beautiful landscapes and countless hiking and cycling trails (take a look at our photos, all taken just a few minutes from our house). The city is about 3 kilometers away from the village where we live. You can choose to go by bus, which is 200 meters away from the closest bus stop to our house, or you can prefer to walk and enjoy nature.

  • Help

    Help

The task of dedicating yourself and giving maximum attention to the child´s has not been easy, especially when you are raising two of them while they are both pupil´s, working all kinds of hours and on a very tight budget. We just moved into a big house, which easily gets out of control. So, we definitely need help in the cleaning department (it's usually the first ball to drop), besides just hanging out with the child´s ... You're not expected to be their "dad or mum", on the contrary, we hope you'll join the team of them having fun and being there when their parents are a little tired for other games or random conversations.
And you are welcome to get as involved as you want and feel comfortable. Some just play and read books (which is amazing), others end up putting them to bed.

The main thing is that the help here varies depending on what's going on and what you're interested in, comfortable with, and good at. You have to be very proactive in a way, see what you want to do and do exactly that.
We make a point of not "managing" our guests or giving them orders, but we do hope that people will blend in with the crazy pace we have going on, jump on board and take advantage of opportunities to help (in other words - not wait to be asked or receive a to-do list). It's not always an easy task, we know.
but in return we try to be as flexible as possible, so any skills you have that can enrich and support our lives are very welcome.

As our work involves caring for children and taking initiative to help with household chores, we only accept mature volunteers aged 25 and over (preferably women).

    Accommodation

We have a simple guest room with a double bed, a wardrobe, a desk with a chair, a door leading to the balcony and a great view.
Food is included for the most part, although we barely have time to eat proper meals, so you have to be able to fend for yourself somehow. We live a very simple lifestyle, so you might go out for a burger every now and then or want to pop into the corner store for some sweets to hide under your bed :)

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The village where we live is calm, so if you want to take advantage of your free time to visit more lively places, we have the train station that will take you to Munich about 4 kilometers away. And if you prefer, you can also go by train to Austria, which is about 50 kilometers away. We can help you with travel and tour itineraries so you can make the most of your stay at our house :)
