    Description

Welcome! We are launching our beachfront lodge after 5 years of building and exploring with everyone who came. As a result we're only open to a couple of specific skill sets that would be willing to come workaway with us:
    1. A Mechanic - Someone with significant general repair skills. We have a fleet of motorcycles, boats, jet skis and various things that need maintenance. Anyone with this skill set could be considered to come and maintain.
    2. A Guide / Hospitality - We are looking for someone who could operate local guided adventure tours and manage front of house hospitality as we launch. This person should ideally speak French and English to the level of business management.
    3. Business Development & Marketing - An ability to market our fledgling location for adventures, retreats and hotel guests.

Otherwise, you may still reach out if you believe you will be the perfect fit after reading out mission, but please be advised there's limited space from here on out.

    About Us:
We offer adventure excursions with purpose and a space to reflect and create. Our ambition is to provide something more to the world than another tourism venture, and the 4th wall that accompanies it; an experience beyond the boundaries of ‘mainstream modern western life’. Our mission is to support awareness and connectedness as the foundation from which we thrive, considering this life a spiritual journey, whether we are aware of it or not. We hope to see the space used for healing and innovation, perhaps via retreats, symposia, and/or as a launch pad for great ideas and projects that harmonise the material and spiritual planes.

We appreciate a shared ambition of harmony and love amongst our household, in which we thrive as a collective. Non-violent communication and other authentic relating strategies to ease unification and integration are welcome! We invite those that find joy in supporting one another, honour our heart’s integrity, and guide each other in growth and healing. This trust is founded upon our own experiences and the testimonies of those we’ve had the pleasure of sharing this space with thus far.

Workawayers are also offered rental of equipment and discounted excursions

    Who Are We:
Maxime established the project 5 years ago and considers Madagascar his home. He can now speak Malagasy and has a bond with the village, with some members considered family. He has an incredible ability to orchestrate, as demonstrated by his manifestation of a project like this in this environment, where people management and general logistics can be extremely trying. Max manages the team, and serves as project manager to the preparation of the guesthouse. He also has devised and hosts excursions having mapped some of Madagascar’s terrain and culture.
He is a skilled motorcyclist and intuitive woodworker, and is disciplined in coupling his power to initiate action and direct projects with mindfulness practices to ground, reflect, and center. He’s a curious adventurer of places and people, and is cultivating his capacity for patience and empathy. Max is someone from whom you can receive an honest opinion, but be prepared that it may reflect the high standard against which he holds himself.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have rooms at or adjacent to the main guesthouse (depending on stage of opening), and tents and hammocks that can be pitched in our land in the jungle nearby. We have a kitchen for preparing food, which we have thus far cooked and shared together with our volunteers.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We have fibre optic broadband, and Nosy Be airport is within an hours transport (30 mins car + 30 mins boat), BUT this is Madagascar. Prepare to have your patience tested, cold showers, relaxed food hygiene, and some bumpy rides. Prepare to be in awe of the breadth of humanity, as beautiful as it can be challenging (your hosts included ;) ).
There is a lack access to many of the creature comforts of the west in our local area. We rely on food (largely vegetables and rice) from a market ~1h drive from here. There is a supermarket on Nosy be (island) where one can buy relatively basic things like cereals, dried herbs, olive oil, pastas, tampons etc, but please consider this of limited availability locally if preparing to visit. We also dearly welcome any treats from the west, like seeds, nuts, dried berries, superfood powders, parmesan/cheese, yeast flakes, condiments and other stuff to spice things up a bit.
We have dogs. Many Malagasy people speak some French, and most speak only Malagasy. Rarely someone speaks some English.
