    Description

We are an ecological wellness center and family home in the Mayan jungle near Tulum, Mexico. Our vision is to create a sanctuary where people can connect with nature, explore conscious living, and support sustainable ways of life.

Our project integrates wellness, permaculture, agroforestry, healing arts, and environmental education. We host and co-create retreats, workshops, and community gatherings around yoga, meditation, sound healing, and sustainable living.

While this sounds magical (and it is!), we want to be very clear: the work exchange is not a retreat. It is a contribution to keeping our retreat center and home running smoothly. That means a lot of housekeeping, cooking, cleaning, and maintenance in the jungle — where everything needs constant care.

When we don’t have retreats, we dedicate time to bigger projects like carpentry, landscaping, gardening, and construction. When we do have retreats, the focus is on hospitality — making sure everything is spotless, meals are ready, and guests are supported.

We live here with our young daughter, so we also look for people with good values, flexibility, and a family-friendly attitude.

If you are reliable, motivated, and genuinely want to support an off-grid retreat center while learning about permaculture, ecological living, and ceremonial work, this is the place for you.

By joining and supporting our project, you’ll gain hands-on experience in sustainable and off-grid living. You’ll learn about bio-construction, permaculture, agroforestry, composting, and ecological maintenance, while also experiencing the rhythms of daily life in the jungle. Depending on the timing, there may also be opportunities to explore yoga, meditation, and healing arts that are part of our retreat center life.

Beyond the work, you’ll be immersed in the warmth of Mexican culture and spirit, sharing meals, traditions, and a family environment rooted in respect and connection. Our location is surrounded by hundreds of cenotes, pristine beaches, and ancient Mayan sites, with nearby treasures like Bacalar’s Lagoon of Seven Colors, the pink flamingo lagoon, and the colonial charm of Mérida.

This region is a truly remarkable place to learn, grow, and contribute. Our project is built with love, dedication, and a vision of harmony with nature. We look forward to sharing this journey with you and trust you will cherish the experience as much as we do.

You’ll stay in one of our jungle casitas (shared) with a compost bathroom and a kitchenette. There’s also a beautiful canopy platform for sunsets over the jungle.

We share meals, enjoy all kinds of foods, and value the experience of gathering at the table.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We are delighted to welcome inspiring, like-minded people who resonate with our vision and who are responsible, respectful, caring, positive, and adaptable. Hosting workawayers is a blessing for us, as it allows us to meet wonderful people and create a meaningful exchange of energy and support.

In our home, we enjoy all kinds of food except pork and love sitting together at the table. Sharing meals is one of the most valuable ways to connect, so we kindly ask that workawayers have a similar diet to keep things simple and harmonious in the kitchen.

During your free time, you can explore the beauty of the Mayan Riviera. Our retreat center is surrounded by cenotes, white-sand beaches, and jungle trails. Just a short ride away you’ll find Tulum’s vibrant atmosphere, Playa del Carmen’s lively energy, and the tranquil charm of Chemuyil, our local town.

For transportation, we provide two jungle bicycles that volunteers can use to ride into Chemuyil. From there, colectivos (shared mini-vans) run along the main road between Tulum and Cancún, making it easy and affordable to explore the surroundings.

We look forward to welcoming those who bring good energy, curiosity, and a willingness to contribute — and to sharing the magic of the jungle with you! 🌿✨
