About us and the farm
We are a couple in the early fourties, living on a small farm located in a scenery area with valleys, mountains and fjords in the nearby surroundings. The farm is located in a valley with steep fields of grassland used as forage and grazing areas for sheep, managed by using both traditional and modern farming methods. We live in an old house which is renovated in the last ten years, with a modern household. The house is surrounded by an ornamental and herb garden. We try to be self-sufficient in vegetables, eggs and some meat. We have regular work in additon to the the farm, so except from our holidays you could expect to work alone at daytime some days during the week. Which means you need to be able to work independent. We could, in busy periods, be slow answering, so don´t be afraid of nagging for an answer. We are open-minded and expect you to be gay friendly.

Help in the house
You will be abel to explore one of the most beauty places in Norway, with a wonderful nature and hiking abilities. We would offer you the opportunity to learn about Norwegian culture and language. We would share our experience how to run a small scale farm, and a mostly self-sifficient life, but without a romantic view of living.
About the farm and what we are doing.
We are developing an organic farm business. Few years ago we started with marked farming where people could subscribe for a weekly box of vegetables, this has become quite popular and we have an increasing number of subscribers. Plans for the season is to complete a visiting garden close to the greenhouse where bees and forest gardening are important components. If you are interested in permaculture design, forest garden and holistic management we appreciate your engagement. We of course welcome all types of people with interests in small-scale organic farming and horticulture.
About the work and what kind of help we need
First of all, we would especially appreciate people who want to help us in the spring time, with tasks in the greenhouse, preparing beds and planting vegetables. The work tasks follow the season, in April/May it is lambing and work in the greenhouse, in may/june it is preparing beds and planting vegetables, in july it is mostly hay-making, watering (if its not raining) and weeding, in july/august until end of season it is harvesting vegetables and honey. Regular work is to take care of animals, maintenance work, gardening, cooking and housework.
We offer good accommodation in our house, healthy food and a including environment. Drugs are banned, but we appreciate alcohol in god company with people and food.
There is plenty of places for hiking, kayaking, fishing and just to relax in beautiful nature.
The farm is located in the western part of the country which means there is a humid climate, so raincoat is needed.
The farm can be recached by public transport.
