Hello we are Anne and Gavin.

We left the rat race of the UK in April 2015 to live in our home in France.

We are renovating our 15th century home that lies around the walls of a medieval cite of Sainte Suzanne in Mayenne. A truly stunning place with beautiful views and walks. If your into rambling, cycling, painting, or just want to completely relax in your spare time this is the place for you. This medieval cite is voted in the top ten places to visit in France. This is a very quiet place and not for young or old people looking to party.

From January we would like to continue with the renovations and start to really work on the back terrace garden.

We speak English, although Gavin does speak french (I am learning) and we have two cats Eric and Belle. Anyone French or who can speak french will be an added bonus, as I need help.

Looking for people to join in with us and make this a fantastic home and place to stay.

We are looking for people WITH a bit of experience in gardening and holding a paint brush etc.

What we offer in return is your own private room with one king-size bed, 3 meals a day, and hopefully a fun time when working.

It is a very picturesque town with many walking routes around the town and local area. There is an 11th century donjon and 16th century chateau and during summer there is an open air swimming pool. The nearest big town is Evron with a weekly market and trains to Le Mans. Further afield are a variety of Roman ruins and caves at Saulges. Jublains with it's roman ruins. The area is popular with cyclists as well. The local Tourist Information Board which is two minutes walk from our home hires out bicycles too.
