Hello! There is a lovely piece of earth that I am lucky to have. As there hasn't been done anything with/to it for 40plus years it needs some TLC. Some of it has been cleared by big machines, but now it needs to be tidied up. And I would like to make some raise beds too and there are lots of other "green fingers" things to do.
Creative, out of the box thinking people are more than welcome. Loving nature, peace and quiet, be comfortable working on your own, pro-active, seeing what needs to be done and being handy would be great.
It will be just you and me, so make sure that that is what you want. I am not looking for long term volunteers. One or two weeks would be good.

After working as a workawayer myself for one and a half year I bought a piece of land, near the artist town of Caldas Da Rainha, in between Alvorninha and Moita. It's about 12000 m2 and there is still a lot of wild land, bushes and trees. I have many ideas of what to do with it, but It would be really nice to do this project together with you!
I have started with several things (clearing lots of land, the Box (a bedroom in a small sea-container), a woodshed, a toolshed, the Bubble (compost toilet and shower)) and there is much more to do. Like clearing more land, cutting wood, level the terraces, making steps, little projects, etc.etc. Everything as natural as possible.

There is a great small container called The BOX at the land which is now a bedroom, but you can also put up a tent (which I have) anywhere you like. Please bring your own sleeping-bag and torch. Remember that everything is sort of basic, but pretty comfortable. There is space for your (small) van if you might be traveling with that.
I will be cooking a vegetarian meal for lunch or for dinner and if you like to cook, you are more than welcome to.

    What else ...

About 10 km from Caldas Da Rainha and 20 km from stunning beaches. Caldas is only an hour by bus from Lisbon. Also the mediaeval town of Obidos is near. It's a beautiful hilly area with lots of fruit trees and very green. I am happy to take you somewhere on your day off, or you can come with me to places if I need to. There is a mountainbike for you to use.
Because the project started from scratch there is a lot to do and to learn I guess. For you and definitely for me.
Would be nice to see you here!
