Our Buddhist meditation and education centre is one hour from the Yangon airport. The purpose of our Centre is to provide free education to the children and nuns, and a place for a meditators to practise meditation.
We welcome people to join us in teaching, gardening, cleaning and helping around. We have a large variety of Dhamma and meditation books that will be suitable for people who want to do self-exploration and meditation. We welcome those who want to life beneficially and quiet life, or those who want to do own meditation retreat.

The advantage of volunteering with us is the volunteers can really experience Burmese and Buddhist culture. You will also gain a lot from your own meditation and reading books.
We will teach you Basic Theravada Buddhism (Dhamma) and also meditations such as Insight meditation and loving-kindness meditation. You will have lots of time for self-exploration and be able to meditate on your own psychological phenomena.
Here, volunteers will do physical help to cultivate strong physical body, and meditation to cultivate strong and compassionate mind. Volunteers will learn lots of positive Buddhist values such as respect, humbleness, gratitude, loving-kindness, cooperation, reducing ego and also harmony living with others.
There will two meditation sittings with chanting in the morning 4.30am to 6.30am, and night time 7.00 to 9.00 pm. Basic Buddhism and meditation discussion is at 3 pm to 4pm twice a week. Morning and night are self practice in meditation.
Duty is from 7.30 am to 10.30am. Duty time is about 3 hours, Duties include
1. Cleaning the building, toilets and bathroom.
2. Gardening,
3. Teaching English
4. Book editing and transcription if you are good in English.
5. Drawing and painting.
For vegetarian, vegetarian food will be provided. and Accommodation and 3 meals will be given.
Conditions for volunteers to come to our centre.
1. Interested in meditation AND Buddhism.
2. Are able to do English teaching, or be able to communicate well in English.
3. Willing to stay for at least two weeks.
4. We prefer non-smoker and non-drinking volunteers. You should abstain from smoking or drinking when staying with us.
5. All volunteers must keep five main morality/precepts in our centre.
a. Do not kill or harm sentient beings.
b. Do not steal, or taking things not given.
c. No sexual activities.
d. No false speech including telling lies, slandering, harsh speech and gossiping.
e. No intoxicant such as cigarette, drugs, alcohol, wine, beer.
6. We prefer volunteers to "dress down" and have quiet behaviour, not to use perfume or make-up , and no singing and dancing as you are in a meditation centre, not a party or backpacker hostel.

A shared room (two persons) per room. Separate rooms for male and famale.
Our place is near to a village that volunteers can buy extra things.
There are few pagodas nearby that volunteer can explore during their off day.
Food and accommodation are given freely. There is no charge at all. However, since we are providing free food, accomodation and education to poor children, we like to request volunteers to donate if they can.
We only can accept volunteers who can stay for two weeks, and who can follow our rules.

If you are a real teacher, please show us some proof of your teaching experience. Then you can apply for a 70 days religious visa with the invitation letter from us.
