    Description

Join my partner, Juan(Colombian) and myself, Cristina(Romanian) in Laureles, Medellin, where we're transforming our new home into a cozy haven. Offering accommodation and breakfast in exchange for help with painting, we welcome couples, friends, and fellow travelers. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of this town I've come to adore after exploring 60+ countries. Alongside our friendly dog, we'll share local gems and possibly explore together. Let's create memories while brushing strokes of beauty onto our new abode.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Staying with us is more than just a room — it’s a real cultural exchange and an easy way to feel at home in Medellín. We help newcomers integrate from day one: we’ve created a personalized digital map and several recommendation pages with our favorite cafés, hikes, coworking spots, events, neighborhoods, and local tips. It’s a great way for volunteers to understand the city quickly and discover places they wouldn’t find on their own.

We also love inviting our guests and volunteers to join us for relaxed social activities like barbecues on the terrace, board game nights, movie nights, or going out to cultural events together. These gatherings include both our guests and our local or expat friends, so it’s easy to meet people and build a little community around the house.

We interact with our volunteers daily and make sure you feel welcomed, supported, and part of the team. We speak both English and Spanish, so you can practice either language, depending on what you’re learning — and we’re always happy to help. In return, we enjoy learning about other cultures and hearing different stories and perspectives from around the world. Our goal is to create a warm, open environment where volunteers can connect, relax, and really experience the heart of Medellín.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Shared/Private room with shared facilities. Unfortunately we don’t yet have a laundry machine in the house.

Our space is a coliving, so everyone here has a very independent lifestyle. We do not provide meals, as each person cooks for themselves at their own rhythm, and we have guests with many different schedules and diets. Volunteers, just like all our guests, will have their own space in the fridge and cupboards to store food and are welcome to use the kitchen whenever they need.

Because we don’t offer food, we keep our volunteer schedule very flexible and fair. The weekly tasks are light and should not take more than 15 hours per week in total. Volunteers can usually organize their hours in the way that works best for them, as long as the few weekly tasks get completed. We aim to offer a balanced exchange where volunteers have plenty of free time to explore Medellín, join our activities, or simply enjoy the house at their own pace.

    What else ...

We are a very easy-going couple that has recently adopted a dog. Usually we love traveling, enjoying live music and doing sports. Since now our home is under renovations, we are more focus on the work than other leisure activities but since usually we are very active we have all recommendations in our pockets for your stay in Medellin. Since the home is under renovations you must expect that there is normal construction noise and dust related to this type of work on site.
