What luck that our first Workaway was at this place! Anna and Hugh were such kind, generous hosts who offered an exceptional work exchange that included independence, wonderful accommodations, plenty of time to explore the area, and most importantly lasting friendships. Having a chance to experience life on a beautiful Tuscan farm, be at one with
… read more nature, bond with the animals, and enjoy the surprisingly moderate climate in December was just what our souls needed. It will be hard to top this Workaway, but we will never forget the gorgeous sunsets, the warmth of our hosts, and the sense of peace that this Workaway has given us.

We had the privilege of spending two months at this very special place. Located in a glorious part of the Tuscan countryside, this Workaway offered us more than we could possibly have wished for. The opportunity to experience the agricultural life of this part of Italy, meeting amazing people and enjoying the immense satisfaction of tasting the
… read more oil of olives we had picked 48 hours earlier. Anna and Hugh were the most generous, considerate and kind hosts you could hope for. We loved spending time with them and their friends, particularly enjoying finding out more about Italian food and wine!
Whilst we were there we worked on a wide range of projects. We appreciated being able to set our own routine for the daily tasks – feeding the animals, tending the garden etc and navigating projects and priorities.
The ‘little house’ really felt like home and allowed us our own space. It is well equipped with the added bonus of large windows opening out to fields of vines, and stunning Tuscan views.
We highly recommend this amazing Workaway with Anna and Hugh. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Nicole and Simon were with us for a couple of months. During this time, they helped us to clean up and reorganize our vegetable garden, pick olives, look after animals and undertake numerous general maintenance issues around the house. Everything they got involved with, they did to excellent high standards. Our vegetable garden seems to have taken
… read more on a new life and they spontaniously took upon themselves the redesign of an area of the garden, into a dry garden turning it into a work of art. They kept their accomodation and surroundings clean and tidy, reorganized our tool room beyond recognition and helped mantain and repair lots of malfunctioning items.
However, even more important for us was the fact that Nicole and Simon are highly positive, warm and friendly people. Within just a few days from their arrival we felt as if we had always known them and that they were real, good friends. They fitted in perfectly within our circle of friends and we all had a great time together.
As we saw them leaving, we felt great sadness and I can only conclude by saying that they will be a great asset for any host, the best workaways one can possibly wish for.
Had luck and privilege to have a peek into wine making universe. From grape to the tank.Filled the two week gap at start of September 2023. Peak grape harvest time. Workaway all the way.
Desk jockeys should be prepared for serious intense fitness. For those with farming experience it willl be business as usual. Was part of the basket loading team
… read more and did some tiny tasks around the house. Doklean and Guido are permanent dynamic duo.... super fun and helpful hands.
It was also WOWaway all the way.
Zen in a purest form. Nothing to think about except for the very moment when lifting basket #378. All that under Maremma sunshine , eyes on a blue sky and rolling hills..Being around cats, horse and donkey is additional chill out therapy. Night sound of crickets for the all chakras feed.
In those 2 weeks , had 4 full days free to run around Tuscan / Lazio landscape. You are really in center of Italy
( culturally and geographically )
The place is ( cosmopolitan) family run operation . Anna Maria and Hugh are very friendly straight shooters. Organizing work and spare time was easy. Make sure to get duties schedule and register work ( house/wine yard) hours yourself.
Attached guest house is fully equipped, very quiet , bright and spacious .Super fast Wi Fi. No Tv but no one needs it. From the bedroom and living room there is full screen view to the green hills on the South. To the West - sunset in red.Feedback
