    Description

Enjoy peace & serenity at the Farm (means Heavenly Earth Mother in Hawaiian Language). Stay with Lakshmi (best dog ever :) and Juhl (steward, lover & "owner" of the land). currently looking for a single or couple who could arrive by sept 1 and stay for the month while i am gone off the farm... need to LOVE my dog & cat and be able to care while i am gone... instructions will be given prior to my departure!
There are 13 acres - 3 acres producing avocado, mac-nut, veggies, variety of fruits & herbs & 10 wooded acres. We are working on becoming a fully sustainable farm. The farm is NOT a business.... the products are for farm guests. I am currently looking for the right 1-2 EXTREMELY RESPONSIBLE & MATURE people to help out and live with me at the farm. please read further to see if that might be you! I am looking for volunteers who are self-motivated, self-directed, hard working, honest, healthy, strong, positive attitude, mature, clean, quick learner, must be alcohol, cigarette, drug/drama free. i am looking for people who have experience with weed whackers/chainsaws/farming/gardening & need short term help 1-3 weeks or possibly longer if the correct fit. The volunteers jobs may be weeding an area, trimming trees, weed whacking, picking macadamia nuts, harvesting other fruits, or other "odd" jobs. I am pretty particular about how things are done so if you tend to be more on the spacey side, sloppy, have trouble focusing, completing tasks or following directions this is not the place for you. I will provide your home space and produce (herbs, some veggies, nuts & variety of fruits) from the trees/gardens in exchange for 25 hours of your volunteer services. There are guests sometimes on the property so their privacy should be maintained at all times and a peaceful & respectful attitude is a must. We are 30 miles south of Kailua-Kona in a remote location (meaning no neighbors are visible) at 1600ft elevation. Buses go right by the house 2x/day for your transportation & they are only $2... some like to hitchhike and if i am going out i am happy to take you if i can. Beaches are between 5 -20 miles away. we are located between Volcano National Park one way (65 miles) and Captain Cook the other way (20 miles). If you feel you are a match please call or email me & we can meet.
    Mahalo, Nikki

aloha, i am looking for people who are comfortable and experienced with weedwacking and or chainsawing, gardening & farming. i need help pulling weeds, planting, harvesting, trimming trees, weed wacking and chainsawing . i also occasionally need help with art projects, computer, internet, general maintenance or help with eco-projects.

i am looking for mature, responsible, self directed, motivated individuals. we will be living in the same household so clean and quiet is a requirement.1-2 week stays are ok or longer..... i ask that there is no drinking, drugs, smoking or drama on the property... this is a quiet, peaceful farm in the country...our gardens are in full blossom at this time so there are a lot of green things to eat and there are fruit, berries & macademia nuts to eat on the property (bananas, avocado, papaya, squash, herbs, various other fruits),

therefor i ask for a trade of 25 hours/week for a beautiful home to stay and all of the food you can eat from the farm.

Large bedroom in the main farmhouse with a king size bed and futon couch... access to the whole home. or i may have you stay in the eco-cottage... which is its own house with kitchen and bathroom.... either way you will have a roof over your head and a safe/clean place to stay... just ask... depends on what is happening at the time.

    What else ...

there are buses that drive right by the farm a few times a day so on your days off you can take a bus into town or to the beaches/volcano or wherever else you might like to go on the island.hitchhiking is very popular here on the island because a lot of people who visit do not have transportation. there is a LOT to see and do here on the island..tropical, wonderful weather, check out big island Hawaii on the internet & see all it has to offer. the best beaches for swimming with tropical fish, turtles & dolphins are from 5-20 miles from the farm.... whale watching too!
