We're a family run small business, breeding, hatching, growing and processing pasture raised Sommerlad chickens. We also farm sugarcane, manufacturing many of our own inputs on farm including biofertilisers, native microbes, humates and others.
We overlook the stunning Hinchinbrook Island in tropical north Queensland. Up the road in the township on Ingham, with a strong sugarcane history and Italian influence.

Help around the house
You'll get exposed to innovative farming practices in pasture raised poultry and sugarcane. You will also get to experience life in the tropics and all that brings!
We welcome all helpers as a member of the family, and if you want to, join us on family outings to local sights and events.
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
General farm duties, help around the house & veggie garden, help and fun with our kids, help build shelters for chickens too! We like to treat all guests as a member of our family.
Medium sized bedroom with king-single sized bed. Views to Hinchinbrook Island are complimentary! We have a single shared bathroom in the house.
There's endless sights and activities in the area - Hinchinbrook Island and the famous Thornsburn Trail. Great fishing (don't tell too many people!). We also have Broadwater National Park, as well as the largest single drop waterfall in all Australia just up the road - Wallaman Falls. We're located between Townsville and Cairns, both of which offer other activities, including trips to the Great Barrier Reef, and plenty of other cultural experiences.
Be aware our home is a traditional old Queenslander, with central common areas and bedrooms off these. Our kids are up early, as are we to do the chook run!
