Description
We are looking for a trained/skilled carpenter and/or joiner - a bit of an all-rounder who would like stay with us and help us develop a small summer house/cabin into a 21st century off-grid cabin over the period of three months in the summer/early autumn (from mid July). We are a family of 5 with three kids aged 10, 11 and 13, a cat and grandparents living nearby. We live on a small organic farm near Sweden's third largest lake and speak English, German and Swedish.
Wir suchen eine/n gelernte/n Zimmerer/in und/oder Tischler/in - am liebsten eine/n Allrounder/in, der/die uns helfen möchte, ein kleines Sommerhaus/eine Hütte zu einer off-grid/klimaneutralen Hütte des 21. Jahrhunderts umzugestalten, und zwar über einen Zeitraum von drei Monaten im Sommer/Frühherbst (ab Mitte Juli). Wir sind eine 5-köpfige Familie mit drei Kindern im Alter von 10, 11 und 13 Jahren, einer Katze und Großeltern, die in der Nähe wohnen. Wir leben auf einem kleinen Bio-Bauernhof in der Nähe von Schwedens drittgrößtem See und sprechen Englisch, Deutsch und Schwedisch.

Help
We are looking for a trained/skilled carpenter and/or joiner - a bit of an all-rounder - who would like stay with us and help us develop a small summer house/cabin into a 21st century off-grid cabin over the period of up to three months in the summer/early autumn (from mid July). Perhaps you are in-between jobs or would like to take a break from your current job and experience Sweden whilst putting your mark on a traditional Swedish summer cabin to give it a new lease of life. We are looking for someone who is hands-on, practically minded, creative and enjoys working with wood/timber transforming it into something functional and great to look at. We have some dried timber ourselves which came from a forest nearby and would like to use it as much as possible. The most important thing for us to get this project off the ground. We don't think that'll be possible to completely finish it in one go.

Vielleicht möchtest du eine Pause vom derzeitigen Job einlegen und Schweden erleben, während du einem traditionellen schwedischen Sommerhütte neues Leben einhauchst. Wir suchen jemanden, der/die praktisch veranlagt und kreativ ist bzw. Spaß daran hat, mit Holz zu arbeiten und es in etwas Funktionales und Schönes zu verwandeln. Wir haben selbst etwas getrocknetes Holz aus einem nahegelegenen Wald und würden es gerne, so weit das geht, verwenden. Wir wollen das Projekt anfangen und gehen nicht davon aus, dass es in drei Monaten voll und ganz fertig gestellt ist.

Accommodation
You will stay in a small house on our farm which has its own bathroom, kitchen and washing machine. We cook one shared, warm, main meal per day (usually lunch), and an optional second meal which we could take turns in cooking/preparing. You would be making your own breakfast.
Du wohnst in einem kleinen Haus auf unserer Farm, das über ein eigenes Bad, eine Küche und eine Waschmaschine verfügt. Wir kochen eine gemeinsame, warme Hauptmahlzeit pro Tag (in der Regel das Mittagessen) und eine optionale zweite Mahlzeit, die wir abwechselnd kochen/zubereiten können. Du würdest dein eigenes Frühstück zubereiten.
What else ...
We live close to two nature reserves with amazing wildlife/birds. You will have your own bicycle to get round; there's a bus stop about 5 km away from where we live and a train station which we go to quite regularly not to far either. It takes about 50 min to travel into Stockholm by car.
Wir leben in der Nähe von zwei Naturschutzgebieten mit tollen Tieren und Vögeln. Wir stellen ein eigenes Fahrrad zur Verfügung; es gibt eine Bushaltestelle etwa 5 km von unserem Haus entfernt und einen Bahnhof, zu dem wir regelmäßig fahren, ist auch nicht weit weg. Die Fahrt nach Stockholm mit dem Auto dauert etwa 50 Minuten.
