I stayed with this family for about 2 weeks in February 2023. I have just finished a 5-month Erasmus in Spain and wanted to stay in Spain and continue speaking some Spanish and get to know more about Andalusian culture (as I had just spent 5 months in the north of Spain in Salamanca). Rocío was great, I got to practice my Spanish every day and she

My job was to speak in English to the children as well as teach them a bit of French. They already speak good English, so I did not have to teach them a lot, just correct pronunciation/sentence structure. I spent most of my time with the 7-year-old daughter and the 9-year-old son, who are both very energetic, so it was hard to get bored! I had mornings free when the Children were at school as well some time off certain afternoons, which was good and gave me plenty of time to do some personal work on the side as well as explore surrounding areas. I also had my weekends free so was able to visit Seville and Cadiz. I only stayed for 2 weeks, but definitely helped with my confidence in speaking Spanish. Andalusia is a beautiful region of Spain; I would recommend for anyone. Thank you again for welcoming me in your home!

I stayed with this awesome family for 4 weeks before lockdown and my only regret is that I couldn't stay for longer! From the very beginning my experience was positive. As it was my first time being an au pair I was quite nervous but Rocío and Miguel put me straight at ease, made me feel at home and just were really great in general. If I needed

The kids are really great! They are lively, kind, helpful, funny - especially funny! I think I probably spent most of my time laughing while I was there. I was really impressed by their level of English, they already knew so much but it was really fun to see how they kept learning and taking on new words. My day with them generally began around 2 or 3 where I would just help them with homework if they needed it, do some reading, but mostly just chatting and playing, making learning more fun and natural.
I spoke English with the kids (although they did start to help with my Spanish, teaching me random words here and there - it was super cute) and Spanish with the parents so it's really easy to practice and improve your own Spanish.
I had my own room which was really comfortable with space for clothes, etc. I was free for the mornings and weekends which meant I was able to discover a lot of the local sights and go on small trips with other au pairs. The food was all delicious, there was nothing I didn't like. There is also the option to cook for yourself if you prefer.
Overall it was an amazing experience, and like I said I wish I could have stayed for longer. I was really lucky to meet them all and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who is thinking about being an au pair. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
