    Description

Hi, I’m Maria, originally from the Netherlands, and last year I fulfilled a lifelong dream: I bought a beautiful property in the Marche, Italy.
Today, I live in a lovingly renovated farmhouse set on 15 acres of farmland and woodland. Perched on the slope of the mountain, the house enjoys breathtaking views across the picturesque village of Braccano.
Although the house has now been beautifully renovated, the surrounding land had been neglected for quite some time. There is still plenty of pruning, clearing and tidying to do, which makes caring for this special place an ongoing adventure.
The property is within walking distance of Braccano, a charming little village famous for its colourful murals. It is also home to a cosy, authentic Italian restaurant—perfect for enjoying an aperitivo and soaking up the relaxed atmosphere of village life. Nearby is the town of Matelica which is only 10 minutes by car.
Right next to the property lies the San Vicino Nature Park, a wonderful area with countless opportunities for hiking and exploring. Every season brings something different, from fresh spring greenery and warm summer days to the golden colours of autumn and the peaceful beauty of winter.
This is my little corner of Italy—a place surrounded by nature, beauty and the simple pleasures of life.
This is a private homestead and we are only producing for your own consumption.
The help we ask from volunteers are not business related activities.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You can learn about olive oil, as we have quite a few olive trees. You can also learn what it takes to run a farmhouse in Italy and perhaps pick up some Italian words along the way. There are opportunities to learn about gardening and about working together with people from different cultural backgrounds.

For those interested in wine production, there are many excellent wine producers in the area. You could visit some of the local cantine for wine tasting.

  • Help

    Help

I could really need some help with gardening, taking care of the olive trees, cleaning up the garden and farmland. If you would like to make your hands dirty and see accomplishment of your help, you are the right place. There are also small tasks in and around the house, like painting projects. Usually we work together on a project.
