Description
We are a open learning community - essentially working with children (we currently have about 20 children in the age group of 5yrs-16yrs). We are located in a 5 acre campus in a village 60km from the city of Bangalore. Our campus is a democratic setup where three adults and all the kids together decide, do and live together.
The campus is a space for all of us to do OPEN learning - which essentially means each one of us (adults and children) learn what we want to learn, how we want to do it and how much we want to do.
Set in rural countryside - our campus gives access to open fields, hills to climb, birds to watch and fresh air all the time.

The whole idea of having volunteers over is to give children an exposure of people from all over the world from all walks of life - in return you get to interact and have fun and learn from a lot of different children.
You also get to experience how an open learning community, as a model of education - can lead of loads of learning (as opposed a structured schooling system).
You also get to see and interact and work with loads of eco-construction projects we have.
Help
We are looking for Volunteers with specific skills in the following areas. If you have expertise in these areas and would like children asking you to teach / work with them (not in a class, but informally) then consider applying:
1. Music & Dance - Instruments like Guitar, Ukulele, Violin, Flute, and percussion instruments and Dances
2. Art (and craft) - Like painting, murals, graffiti, sculpture and craft of different kinds
3. Sports - specially Football (soccer)
4. Movie Making - serious scripting, shooting and post production
5. Science Projects - Making stuff that works - machines / electronics / carpentry etc
As a bonus you can also get involved in our ecologically sustainable living campus projects - which include various construction projects, gardening and natural way of growing own food, etc. We are completely off-the-grid using solar energy and recycling all our water. We also use Solar cookers, gasifier and rocket stoves and always looking to make more.
In general we prefer ONE volunteer at a time and hence may deny requests from couples (though you can still try us - giving us clarity how two people will add value to our campus individually)

Accommodation
Since we all live like a community - in one building - you will share space with all of us. We have dorm kind of accommodation - bunker beds - one for each person. Stay and food is offered to all volunteers (no cost).
What else ...
Since children live at campus - full day is action time - we live together - so we take care of the campus together - clean and maintain it ourselves. We also cook, sing, dance, watch stars, go for treks, etc and yes chat a lot. So when you are here - you can expect action packed days!

Also enjoyed jamming with Music, enjoyed their quiet cooking and even quieter - Anya's sketches.
In two weeks never felt that they were guests - they just merged with our community and our activities.
