We had a really amazing time staying with our hosts. They showed us a very peaceful and inspiring lifestyle as a family. They also introduced us to the nice local culture, local people and travel tips. We felt very welcomed right from the beginning and Martina and Fillip always made sure that we felt like home. We enjoyed our interesting chats
… read more together, exchanging ideas about life, gardening, construction, education...and we quickly realized that we shared so many ideas in common! It was such a pleasure working in their wonderful garden, with a wide variety of beautiful flowers, fruits and vegetables. Our son Louis loved having fun with Zina and Lana! Despite being a bit shy and language barrier at the beginning, they quickly found their ways to communicate and play together. We felt so lucky that we got connected with this lovely family through this experience. For sure we want to keep in touch and to come back to visit them again in the future. And we wish them all the best for their land and life project!
Having this cute family at our place for almost 2 weeks was the best workaway experience we had. They perfectly fit to our lifestyle and already after couple of hours it felt like they lived with us already before.
Vincent is very experienced worker which is not seen that much in younger workawayers. When he and Amelie hit my garden everything

We enjoyed some nice table time with them. It is defin itely worth asking Amelie to make some Chinesse dish, they were all great.
And their son Louis, ooooh we loved that boy so much!
We hope they come again one day

Anne is little French girl. She is open to anything that comes, she is willing to learn, try and do anything new that occurs whether it is a work or a new experience ahead of her.
She spent 1 month at our place with 6 day break for visiting Bratislava. She felt at our place comfortable immediately, she was able to understand simple rules of our
… read more household and she also communicated with our girls from day 1 without any problem, even though none of them could verbally understand each other.
She was at our place in the middle of winter and she had to get use to spending a lot of time outside in cold because the work was outside and it was a hard work. Moreover, lot of snow made it even harder but it was not a problem for her either.
Anne draws and studies languages a lot in her free time and she likes to sleep as well which was quite nice as we like peole that do not need us, as hosting family, full-time.
Keep going girl, you are on a good road!
See you somewhere in time and space.

I think this is one of my best workaway experiences. Martina and Filip live in a small village in the mountains. I came to their house in winter and their house was surrounded by beautiful snowy landscapes at that time. They are very generous people, they took care that I did not lack anything and for example they lent me a lot of snow equipment.
… read more During my outings, they always took the time to explain the different routes to me. They welcomed me and shared their daily life with their two little girls.
This workaway made me grow up. I made a lot of new experiences, working in the snow, trying cross-country skiing and many others. I was able to discover a lot of things, incredible places like the Tatra mountains, dishes (typical or not) that I would do again when I go back to France.
I was able to take a break, far from the cities in the snowy nature. If you want to come to the north of Slovakia and help Martina and Filip in different activities, don't hesitate one second!
I hope to have the opportunity to see them again one day, Martina, Filip, the girls and not forgetting Berti! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

We had wonderful time sharing our space with this family of three. There were gorgeous moments and some less gorgeous due to our daughter Zina and their son Lesan fighting together :D But at the end of the week they were able to partially ignore each other or even play together for some time :) Zina mentions Lesan every now and then and would like

Both Lina and Benoit helped me a lot (I was alone at home with kids when they were at our place), they helped with kids, with dog, garden, household and some other tasks around the house.
What I really enjoyed was having meal together because that is something that we Slovaks do not practise that much, sitting down to a table is not such an event in Slovakia as it is in France.
I also enjoyed talking with Lina on various topics, we almost covered all problems and challenges of the world but we definitely would be able to go on for another weeks and months.
And by the way, carrots Lina sowed were the biggest and yummiest ever.
Thank you for being part of our family.Photos

Berta is far beyond her age. She was observant, responsible, was not afraid of any work. She even took to her arms our weeks old newborn when she cried without us even asking her to do so. After couple of days it felt like Berta is a part of our family. She came with her super huge dog Aramis and it took a while for our dog and Aramis to become

She is great babysitter. She eats everything and was OK to sleep in a tent or in a hammock even thought we offered her one of our spare rooms.
Perfect combo for our first workawayer.
Hoping to see you soon

Byly to skvělé skoro 3 týdny. Nádherná příroda a okolní výhledy, skvělí kuchaři...vlastně

Děkuji celé rodině za to, že jsem mohla část prázdnin trávit u vás. Děkuji za všechno co jste pro mě udělali a doufám, že se někdy uvidíme (musíme!). Těším se na brzké shledání!
