    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

The benefits are to learn about Peru as we are an accomodation who promotes true Peruvian popular culture. You can learn Spanish by talking with our stuff and about local culture and customs in Arequipa. We are locals so this is our hometown so you can ask us whatever you would like to know about our local and Peruvian culture.

The tasks are checking new bookings, updating our reservation system, helping on hostel marketing especially promoting on facebook : we need to publish every day about food, music, events...And if you have a camera and like taking pictures, it's even better ! If the place needs it, you will have to do some cleaning in the living room and the bar, just to make sure that everything is clean in the morning for the early guests. During the day, you can stay free in our cozy and friendly hostel, or explore the most beautiful areas of the city.

We have many international guests so working in such an international environment can give you a whole new world of experience.
We have travel experience all around South America and tourist guide´ experience in Peru so we can help you with organization of your trip in this part of the world.

We are looking for proactive people who speak English and who have a positive attitude towards the hostel environment.

Accommodation and breakfast per day are provided.

Moreover, we can recommend you cheap place around where you can have nice meal. Arequipa has some of the best cuisine in South America, from rocoto relleno and adobo, to ceviche and camarones. The best places to try the local food are the small picanterias—local restaurants that usually serve a limited selection of great food, freshly cooked to order.

There are plenty places for visit in Arequipa and around it.

Arequipa is almost completely built out of white volcanic stone which exploded from deep inside the Earth during a huge volcanic eruption hundreds of years ago. This unique building material gives the city nickname - The White City.

Since our hostel is in the middle of the downtown so just by walking around our neighborhood you can enjoy Arequipa architecture. You can walk to plaza de Armas and visit the twin-towered Cathedral - UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Second interesting place walkable from our hostel is the Museo Santuarios Andinos. Discovered in 1995 on Mount Ampato, the Ice Maiden, aka Momia Juanita, is the body of a young Inca girl thought to have been sacrificed as a ritual offering to the gods sometime between 1450 and 1480. Her body is extremely well-preserved due to being frozen and naturally mummified. Monasterio de Santa Catalina is kind of town in the town worth to visit too.

Arequipa is located in South Peru, close to the borders of Bolivia and Chile, making it an ideal stopping point for many travelers heading south from Lima and Cusco or north from lower South America. So stopping here could be good strategic move for your trip.

Arequipa sits in something of a giant geological bowl, surrounded by volcanoes - Misti, Chchani, and Picchu Picchu are the attraction for hikers and climbers from all over the world.

The climb to the summit of Misti will push you to your limits at nearly 6,000 meters.

If you’re looking for something a little less intense then you can always take advantage of one of the many gentler day treks around Arequipa, like the Chilina Valley outside of Yanahuara.

Only 100 miles northwest of Arequipa, and surrounded by snow-capped mountains and volcanoes, lies the Colca Canyon. People tend to assume that the Grand Canyon is the deepest canyon in the world, but it’s actually just the 3rd.

We have public transportation system in Arequipa and UBER is working too.
