    Description

    EN:
Hello, my name is Tania. I live in the Sacred Valley of the Incas in a small town called Huaran. When I was younger, I studied in Cusco as well as Germany, where I lived for many years. I have since returned to Huaran and am living with my father on our family property. We have a large beautiful property surrounded by the Andes mountains. We have a guesthouse, a large kitchen, dining room and common area. We have many animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, ducks, dogs and cats. We also have a farm where we grow fruiting trees, corn, herbs, and much more.

I have started a personal social project that supports the families that live in the surrounding high mountain villages. There are several villages outside Huaran, such as Cancha Cancha and Tacllypata, that sit at about 3500- 4000 m.s.n.m. Although beautiful, these villages are very isolated. The children from those families have to walk 3-4 hours everyday in order to go to the school here in the Sacred Valley. As a result, many children do not manage to go to school every day and therefore have limited access to education. I allow the children to live with me so that they have the opportunity to go to school. I offer them meals, rooms, and hot showers. In order to help feed them, my home also serves as a farmhouse bed and breakfast, where guests from all over the world can also stay and enjoy the scenery. In return, the children help me with various tasks around the farm including the preparation of meals, housework, caring for the animals, and maintenance of the garden. We usually have about 10 children of different ages ranging between 9 and 21 years. We live peacefully together and are a family.

    How do we work?
The property works holistically through 3 very important aspects:
    1. The Cultural House for the Quechua children, to provide a living space and learning center for the children. It is a safe space, free from any kind of discrimination, where children can live and learn in a positive and enriching environment.
    2. The organic production center to provide and sustain nourishment for the children.
    3. The eco-lodge to generate a circular economy to provide the necessary funds to finance the project on an ongoing basis.

Thank you very much for your interest in being part of our family.

The children living here come from the surrounding indegenous villages, where Quechua is spoken. The culture of this valley dates back to pre Inca times. You can hike with the children to their villages and get to know life in the mountains. You can experience how the culture has existed for thousands of years. It is a beautiful way of living and it is important to me and dear to my heart to teach others about it. THIS TRIP WE CAN NOT OFFER FOR FREE, BUT IT IS ALSO NOT MANDATORY (THE PRICES JUST COVERS FOOD, WORKSHOPS AND STAY IN THE VILLAGE)

We work our ecofarm with permaculture in a sustainable way, this will help you understand how to use resources respectfully, the importance of water, biodiversity, and regeneration.

Our meals are healthy because we use the organic products from our farm, but since we use what the earth gives us, we can not be picky, we have meat, vegetables, fruits etc, but we are use to prepare our meals with products that we have at the moment.

Since you will be surrounded by quechua people, living our lifes, you will be able to learn how to do a mindful travel, knowing how this impacts local people and the environment.

    EN:
We are developing a volunteer program in order to grow our social project in favor of the local children.
We ask people to be very PROACTIVE, RESPECTUFLL, WITH GOOD AND POSITIVE ATITUDE.
Please don't take us as a LOW-COST TRAVEL OPTION.
Since there are always a lot of tasks, I need support in many areas. It may be that a job does not take that much time. It could be that you take on other tasks.

The following areas are particularly important to me:

    - Marketing and social media knowledge: updating of social media (Instagram, Facebook) and photography. If you have background or education in these areas, we would love your support!

    - Houskeeping: In our 7-room ecolodge, it involves cleaning and preparing the rooms. *Indispensable requirement: To be a lover of cleanliness and perfection.

    - Kitchen Support: For the children and the volunteers, we require mostly for the preparation of breakfasts for the volunteers, lunches and dinners for the volunteers and children, who are part of the project.
*Indispensable requisite: A taste for cooking, experimenting and eating with the family.

    - Gardening and general image: The casita has beautiful gardens, which need to be cared for and have good presentation. *Indispensable requirement: Love flowers and plants, be creative.

    - Gardening, organic production center: For the cultivation of vegetables and greens in an ecological way and under permaculture concepts. *Indispensable requirement: To love flowers and plants, to be creative, NOT TO BE DISGUSTED OF NATURAL COMPOST.

    - Ecological farm: For the care of small animals, guinea pigs, ducks, chickens, piglets, rabbits. *Indispensable requirement: To love animals and not to be afraid or disgusted with them or their waste.

    - Maintenance of the place: Painting of some rooms and/or furniture. *Requirement: Knowledge of painting.

    - Light crafts and decoration of the place: To improve the image of our lodging in an artistic way, with paintings, objects or natural ornaments. It involves making or recycling simple objects. You could building and attaching shelves, picture frames and other furnishings. We have a workshop with many tools. We try to build and design everything ourselves. It is not a requirement to have an education, but you should be able to do projects independently and know how to use tools. Since there are many people who do different tasks here, it's important to me that you tidy up after tasks and put the tools back. *Requirement: To have a lot of imagination and talent to decorate.

    - The social project also allows the opportunity to help with children and teach them English. If you have ideas on how to support the project and share your knowledge with us, we would be happy to hear from you. Since children go to school and do their tasks here, we can combine helping hours for the project with other projects.

    NON NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS:

    - Minimum stay of 5 weeks.
    - Volunteers over 24 years old.
    - Complete integrity, since we are a role model for children.
    - No smoking or excessive drinking.
    - No use of drugs, hallucinogens or sacred plants.
    - To fulfill our agreements and commitments seriously.
    - Be proactive in every way.
    - We can not host families with children
    - To be eager to teach values to the children.
    - To be eager to contribute and be part of the future of all of them.
-We want this to be a positive experience for you and for us, and in order to achieve that, we both need to give the best we can.

Located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the town Huaran is safe and quiet. The property is peaceful, quiet and has beautiful mountain views. At night you have a beautiful starry sky with a view of the Milky Way. It's the perfect place to enjoy the silence. There are numerous hiking opportunities in the area.

Huaran is 1.5 hrs from Cusco and easily accessible by bus or taxi. There are also larger towns close to Huaran where you can go for groceries, such as Urubamba, Pisaq or Calca. In Urubamba there is a very nice market where you can get fresh fruit and vegetables. There is a bus that runs frequently throughout the Sacred Valley, called collectivo. It is very cheap, just a few soles. You are also not far from the town of Ollantaytambo, where you can reach Machu Picchu by train.
