Staying with Betsy in her little slice of paradise was absolute heaven! Her home is stunning and my days were spent amidst her organic food garden, apothecary & with her sweet girls (chickens), I could not recommend this stay enough. Work was enjoyable and fun & communication was clear. Most meals were made almost completely with fresh veg from

I learned so much and am so grateful. My stay was short but I felt at home so quickly. Sad to have not stayed longer!Left by host for Workawayer (Ileina)

I had an amazing experience staying at Betsy’s beautiful property in Ojai, a place of stunning natural beauty. Surrounded by mountains, and rolling hills, it’s the perfect spot to relax and recharge. With its hiking trails, farmers’ markets, and charming downtown, Ojai offers a unique and refreshing experience. I originally planned to stay for two

Betsy is an incredible entrepreneur, a wonderful mom, and a fantastic creator. Her creativity and extensive knowledge left me in awe. Although I only spent a couple of days with her before she traveled to Europe, she welcomed me warmly and made sure I was comfortable and well-prepared. During those few days, she shared her fascinating experiences and even took me to an Indian restaurant and spice shop to ensure I had everything I needed. Her thoughtfulness and kindness truly made me feel at home.
The work included gardening, caring for her lovely chickens, and assisting with small projects around the property. It was both enjoyable and fulfilling. Betsy’s knowledge of herbs, natural remedies, and sustainable living was inspiring—she truly lives in harmony with nature.
Her home is a warm and unique space, filled with treasures from her travels and stocked with organic, homemade food from her garden and local farms.
As the final stop on my U.S. travels, my time at Betsy’s was the perfect way to unwind and reconnect with nature. I spent my days working around the property, exploring nearby places, hiking, cycling, and picking up fresh food from the farmers’ market. Working remotely while staying there allowed me to relax and focus, making it a truly rewarding experience.
If you’re looking for a meaningful cultural exchange, a chance to learn about sustainable living, or simply to connect with incredible people in a serene setting, I wholeheartedly recommend staying with Betsy. It’s an experience I’ll treasure forever! This workawayer has chosen to keep their profile private, but can be contacted regarding this feedback by other workawayers.

Betsy and Lily were amazing!!!
I stayed with them for a month, and they made me fell welcome and at home right away!!
The work was really easy, taking care of their adorable chickens and cat, and when Betsy was away, I was responsible for Lily. For me that was the experience of a life time!
