  Herzlich Willkommen!
  We are a small NGO running a Montessori School in Penzberg south of Munich in Upper Bavaria, Germany.
  
  We are looking for volunteers that want to help with children and support our teachers while gaining insight into Maria Montessori’s method of teaching. You can stay any duration of time between 3 weeks and 2 months. Our school is in Penzberg, a nice and friendly town south of Munich. School hours are from 08.00am till 1.00 pm and on in the afternoons from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm, but usually our volunteers do work less than fulltime and get enough free time to prepare their activities and live the bavarian style of life.
  
  We need our volunteers to have English or Spanish as mothertongue, as they will be asked to help during language classes.

  "Help me do it myself" was Maria Montessori’s central idea for her educational concept and it is also valid for our school. This means for example mixed-age classrooms, student freedom (including their choices of activity), long blocks of uninterrupted work time, a thoughtfully prepared environment where materials are organized by subject area, and specially trained teachers.
  
  Apart from learning how a successful Montessori-School runs, you can broaden your teaching skills, live the authentic bavarian life with your host family and enjoy nature, mountains and lakes in beautiful southern Bavaria.

  Help

  School activities in which you can join in and support our teachers range from general teaching in class, languages, musical instruments, sports and arts to yoga or cooking lessons.
  
  You will be asked to help the teachers, produce learning material, supervise the children during their work, be involved in the sports class and arts. Perhaps you will also get the opportunity to go away with our students on a day-trip or longer excursion.

  In our school we teach English and Spanish. If possible, we will try and match you with a family that has some knowledge of your mother tongue.

  Accommodation

  Our volunteers stay with one of the families of the school and help in diverse school activities for up to 25 hours per week. We offer free accommodation with a host family (single room, shared bathroom, meals where requested). During the day they receive free lunch at school.
  
  Depending on the length of your stay, it cannot be guaranteed that you will spend your whole time with one host family. If you don’t happen to be on the same wave length as your host family then that’s not a problem; we can arrange that you move. One of our mottos is talk TO one another, not ABOUT one another. Transport is generally at your own expense - except for the bus or train to reach the school. We also offer transfer to/from the nearest airport, if possible.
