    Description

Hi, I’m Esther. I’m living with my 2 dogs, 3 goats and cats in Northern Italy, in Piedmont.

This is an area where the culture of wine making, slow food and hazelnut cultivation are big. Many others who moved here have similar motives as I do: we like a self-determined life in freedom and want to realize projects which would face many problems in more densely populated areas. I’m a person full of ideas, have seen a lot, and been through many unusual experiences – more about that when we sit at the fireplace.

The old house I bought a few years ago needs both hands and brains everywhere – people understanding how to change, restore, renovate. Large parts still stand in ruins, almost just like they were left many years ago. I’d like to make these rooms livable again, so given limited funds, a lot of creativity is asked.

From here, it’s less than an hour by car to the Mediterranean or the alps. But actually, there is little reason to hop on a car since the immediate landscape is so varied: it can be anything from lovely to arid, rough to mild, sometimes like a fairy tale or a bit bespoke. A place to be, dream and discover.

Around the house is a fair stretch of land, the garden is terraced as typical for the area – and could use further improvements, preffered in the sense of permaculture.

My property is embedded in the hills of Alta Langha, bordering Liguria. It is a bit hidden in a very small village reflective of the past, with peculiar corners and special views that do not disclose themselves at first sight. There is a chapel, and houses at various stages of decay that tell their stories of the past alongside wonderful trails. Far from anything hectic, it’s a life in calm serenity, with the nature around us. Nevertheless, nothing is to be missed, everything is available in the vicinity. Also, tech geeks can go on-line, internet is available – if desired.
