Description
Hello!
We are living at a wonderful place outside from Bacalar, different houses, a beautiful garden with a lot of plants and jungle. We have our own access to the lagoon with a Palapa and our own sailboat.
Our main job is to take care of the place - maintaining, cleaning, cutting trees, weeds, recycling...
and we use the resources to create a sustainable lifestyle with making compost and growing our food like tomatoes, salads, local vegetables and friuttrees.
Living
We need a lot of help with cleaning, as the Jungle is surrounding us and the building is old:
cleaning living áreas
Cleaning bathrooms/toilets
Swipping
Collecting leaves
Cleaning the gardens
And also nice projects like gardening, planting and composting.
You can learn about permaculture and what it means to live in the jungle... self motivated people with farming- and outdoor skills are required. We live in very simple conditions and our life happens mostly outside always in connection with other living beings like mosquitos, spiders, bugs... - nothing dangerous.
We also run an ecotouristic company and sail along the lagoon in a sustainable and conscious way.
Spoken languages are spanish, english, german, french...
Not allowed: Cocacola people, if you fancy these kind of products you can either take a break and discover feeling good without them or have your sugar toxic stuff outside. We also don´t use toilet paper, plastics and any fast contained food. A beer and other fun is welcome once in a while, but once we live here we try to keep the place as clean as possible, and up to the every day jobs. So if you don´t know how to consume healthy, get to read a little about sustainable consume habits, which may include what you eat and what you use for hygiene.
We have been experiencing disappointing quitters, so if you lack of compromise and expect something different to what has been stated here, please save the trouble and time. From the moment you apply you get our attention and begin a connection which we maintain investing time so you get here and find a place to stay, learn and exchange. Once again, if you are not sure or have "issues" please don´t waste our time and better go to a hostel.

We will not offer food, but you will find some basics in the kitchen and also in the garden, you can use. but when it all works fine, we will change to offering food.
We like enjoying life with our sailboat, good food and friends. ;) After working hard there will be always time for relaxing.
You can take your 2 days off, whenever you want - it would be nice we find a rythm togetherWhat else ...
We are near of Bacalar, a peaceful little town on the peninsula of Yucatan, in the Caribbean of Mexico, near of Chetumal. A bus stop is outside the door, there are also taxis and neighbors coming and going to town every day. The Lagoon and some beautiful cenotes invite you to swim and relax. If you are interested in the Mayan culture you will find some ruins like calakmul, all reachable in a daily trip.
