    Description

The Villa was built in the 17th century and has been in the Deciani family for over one hundred years. It is situated in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a region in the North-Eastern part of Italy, which borders with Slovenia and Austria. The Villa is surrounded by a large park with magnificent old trees and about 20 hectares of wooded land, cultivated fields and pastures. It overlooks gently rolling hills on the southern side and has a spectacular view of the Alps to the North. The owners of the Villa, Count Luigi Deciani and his family, live in the Villa all year round, and, for the past thirty years, have been opening it up to the public from time to time, mainly in the summer months, for events such as weddings, concerts, meetings, or films, fashion shoots, advertising spots and other promotional initiatives. There are also a few rooms which can be rented out for residential seminars, family reunions or holidays. Languages spoken: Italian, English, German, French.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Friuli Venezia Giulia is a border region where the three main European cultures converge (Germanic, Italian and Slav). It has a rich and diverse cultural heritage, influenced by centuries of domination by, inter alia, the Roman Empire, the Venetian Republic, France during the times of Napoleon, and the Austrian Empire, which have each left their own mark on the art and architecture as well as language and traditions of the region. Our workawayers will have many interesting archeological and historical sites to visit as well as the opportuity to meet new people and make new friends, practice their language skills and learn more about Italy and its culture way by sharing the life of an Italian family.
