Description
Welcome to my little oasis just outside the beautiful city of Marburg! I’m Hanna, a single mother of two wonderful children. Our home is a cozy country house nestled in a village-like district of Marburg.
Having traveled and experienced the generosity of others through couchsurfing and WWOOFing, I am excited to now open my doors to like-minded travelers.
Our house sits on a spacious plot with a large garden filled with fruit trees – perfect for anyone who enjoys gardening or simply relaxing outdoors. The guest room overlooks the picturesque Amöneburg and provides a tranquil spot to unwind. Also there are some idyllic walking and hiking trails right at our doorstep. There are also two castles nearby and a spa just around the corner (1 min walking distance). For families with children, there’s a horse farm nearby that offers a petting zoo and pony rides.
There are many things to do in Marburg: visit Marburg’s Oberstadt (Old Town), enjoy canoeing, paddle boating, or stand-up paddling at the river lahn or head to the local swimming pool or take a short trip to Niederweimar’s lake, where you can swim or try out the surf facility. Also Marburg offers a diverse cultural scene with museums, live music, and theaters.
As a member of the queer community myself i am happy to provide a safer space for LGBTQIA+ workawayers.
Looking forward to connecting and welcoming you into our home!Types of help and learning opportunities

I love sharing stories and chatting in the garden over a cup of tea or coffee. I’m happy to offer tips and recommendations for exploring the local Area. You’re welcome to join us for meals and experience a bit of our daily life.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
I welcome anyone who enjoys hands-on tasks and creative projects. There are always things to do around the house and garden, and I appreciate any help you can offer.
Tasks could include gardening work like raking leaves, weeding, and general garden maintenance, also renovation work like painting walls, oiling wooden floors, and lacquering window frames or furniture. If you stay longer and are interested, you can help create illustrations for mental health awareness projects for children. You don’t need to be a professional illustrator – just someone who enjoys drawing. Experience with Adobe Illustrator is a plus, but not required.
I’m flexible with tasks and happy to adapt to your strengths and interests.Languages

I have two cozy rooms available in the attic, one of which offers a beautiful view of the Amöneburg. The attic also has a bathroom with a bathtub, shower, toilet, and sink for your use.
You’re welcome to join our meals – I usually cook vegetarian, but I’m happy to prepare vegan meals as well. If you prefer, you can also cook for yourself in our kitchen.
The bus stop is a 2-minute walk away.
I’m happy to host groups of up to 4 people – with two sharing each room – or families with children.A little more information

Most tasks are flexible in timing, so feel free to communicate your work schedule openly. If needed, it’s possible to complete larger projects over a few concentrated days, allowing you to have more uninterrupted time for your own work on others.
Space for parking camper vans
I have a paved courtyard adjacent to the garden where you’re welcome to park and stay. You’ll still have access to the bathroom and kitchen in the house, if you want to. Access to a standard power outlet is available – just bring an extension cord to connect.
Can possibly accept pets
Pets are more than welcome to stay – as long as they’re comfortable and experienced around young children.
