Description
Hi, my name is Tarja and I live in the eastern Finland surrounded by lakes and forest! I love the peace and quiet here but I'm only 30 minutes from nearest city Kuopio. It's easy to get here example from Helsinki because trailway station and airport are both in Kuopio. I have a small strawberry farm which keeps me busy from spring to the fall. I love farming because I can see the labor of my hands so fast. And during the season it is fun to meet again all the strawberry lovers!
I have two cute Jack Russell Terriers called Paivi and Outi. Outi is quite serious and calm girl, as Paivi is energetic little girl who loves to cuddle. My horse is called Johnny Dahlia, and he is ex-racing horse. Martta is a Shetlands pony who was at a riding school. They both are kind of retired now and live easy life here at my farm. Martta is definitely the boss. Big ego in small package!
The forests nearby provide us berries like blueberries, raspberries, lingonberries, and large variety of mushrooms as chantarelles etc.
I live in the main house, and the guests live a little sauna building by the lake. I don't go fishing but many of my guests do. Fishing best early in the morning or late in the evening.Types of help and learning opportunities

We are surrounded by thousands of lakes here in the eastern part of Finland. The nature is absolutely worthwhile to experience. While you stay with me you will experience the finnish country style of living. I love to have guests, and I always treat them like family members. We are not called in vain "The happiest country in the world." The quietness, the fresh air, and not least the light summer nights are absolutely the best. The nature here is like a canvas that looks every day different. Thanks to our four short seasons! You can also check out what's happening in the nearest city Kuopio and the surrounding areas during the summer months.
Help
I would like you to do easy daily tasks as taking care of the dogs - feeding, playing, taking for a walk. The horse and a pony are also easy to take care of because they are always outside. All they need is to have water and to check that they are ok. You don't have to have experience with horses. It is easy and I'm here anyways.
I would like you also to water the small green house and a little garden where I have carrots, beets, potatoes etc. If you love weeding, go ahead!
Gardening includes cutting the grass with sit- on lawn mower or with the one you push. As you like!
If you love to cook, the kitchen is yours! If not, just keeping the kitchen clean is enough. And hanging the laundry to dry outside! Yes, I still hang the laundry outside. They dry fast, and smell so fresh!
That's pretty much all the chores here. By the way, you can eat as much strawberries as you can. And I promise, they are the best you have ever eaten!Languages

There is a beautiful little cottage by the lake. It is a studio size - downstairs is a Livingroom/kitchenette. In a balcony sleeps 2-4 people. In a same building is a sauna and a shower. The building was built 2020 so all is clean and new. There is a brand-new outer house, but you are welcome to use the bathroom in my house which is 2 minute's walk from the little cottage.
I will provide the food, and hope that you will cook for us. I like to cook a lot of food at once and eat it for days when I'm by myself so I'm not picky! I would like to try some of your country's specialties and also introduces you to finnish food. So I will be also cooking! What else ...
You can use my car to get around with some exceptions - the car is needed during the day so usually in the evenings its available. If you wish to take a bus to Kuopio I will definitely drive you to the bus stop. The nearest grocery store is 15 minutes away.
