  Hi! my name is Sara. After several years traveling, shortly before the pandemic, I decided to start the project of building a "little place in the world", a home. A place as self-sustainable as possible and where you can enjoy nature. There is still much to do and to share... It is a cave house on a farm, located in a traditional village in the midlands area of ​​the Gran Canaria island. We have fruit trees, a small organic garden and happy chickens :) We don't have electricity (we're in the process), but we do have some solar lights and a gasoline generator that we turn on when needed. We have water, kitchen, oven and hot shower. Cars don´t arrive at the entrance of the farm, you have to walk 5 minutes from where the cars are left or 15 minutes from the bus stop. The bus leaves you in the capital of the island and at the nearest beach in 30 minutes. We don't have internet, but when I'm at home I can share it with no problem.
  Here we highly value tranquility and healthy living. This is a quiet house, where yoga, healthy and natural life and vegetarian cooking are practiced. At home lives Inti, a xoloscuintle (Mexican hairless dog) very sociable and "almost human" :D In fact he is the king of the house...
  
  
  Hola! mi nombre es Sara. Después de varios años viajando, poco antes de la pandemia, decidí comenzar el proyecto de construir un "pequeño lugar en el mundo", un hogar. Un lugar lo más auto sostenible posible y donde disfrutar de la naturaleza. Todavía queda mucho por hacer y por compartir... Se trata de una casa cueva en una finca, situada en un poblado tradicional en la zona de medianías de la isla de Gran Canaria. Tenemos árboles frutales, un pequeño huerto ecológico y gallinas felices :) No disponemos de electricidad (estamos en proceso), pero tenemos algunas luces solares y un generador de gasolina que activamos cuando es necesario. Tenemos agua, cocina, horno y ducha de agua caliente. A la entrada de la finca no llegan los coches, hay que caminar 5 minutos desde donde se dejan los coches o 15min desde la parada de bus. El bus te deja en la capital de la isla y a la playa más cercana en 30min. No tenemos internet, pero cuando estoy en casa puedo compartir hotspot sin problema.
  Aquí valoramos mucho el silencio, la tranquilidad y la vida saludable. Esta es una casa tranquila, donde se practica yoga, vida sana y natural y se cocina vegetariano. En casa vive Inti, un xoloscuintle (perro sin pelo mexicano) muy sociable y "casi humano" :D De echo él es el rey de la casa...

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  The farm is located in a mountain area, on the side of a ravine with beautiful views. In an area of ​​cave houses. It is a traditional town on the island, with a pottery tradition (here you can find a Locero Center, where they teach you how to make pottery). At home, you can also learn a lot about natural remedies and nutrition, as well as many aspects of a healthy lifestyle in harmony with nature. We practice yoga, so we can also exchange knowledge and practices in this regard. And I can recommend both very special places on the island and interesting events.
  
  La finca está situada en una zona de montaña, en la ladera de un barranco con bonitas vistas. En una zona de casas cuevas. Se trata de un poblado tradicional de la isla, con tradición de alfarería (aquí puedes encontrar un Centro Locero, donde te enseñan a hacer cerámica). En casa, podrás aprender, además, mucho de remedios naturales y nutrición, así como muchos aspectos de un tipo de vida sana y en armonía con la naturaleza. Practicamos yoga, por lo que también podemos intercambiar conocimientos y prácticas en este sentido. Y te puedo recomendar tanto lugares muy especiales de la isla como eventos interesantes.

  Right now I need help with farm maintenance, carpentry work, construction, bio construction, garden work and house maintenance.
  Better people who have initiative and who know how to be independent with the work, since right now I don't have the time to be supervising the work so much. PLEASE, ONLY PEOPLE WHO REALLY WANT TO HELP AND HAVE SOME HARD WORK EXPERIENCE BUILDING A PLACE.
  
  The next project is to enable some caves to make a small apartment there. Therefore, it is necessary to chop walls, clean the place, whitewash, build a small kitchen, do the carpentry of doors and windows, build a dry toilet and shower outside, etc.
  
  
  Ahora mismo, necesito ayuda con el mantenimiento de la finca, trabajos de carpintería, construcción, bio construcción, trabajos de huerta y mantenimiento de la casa.
  Mejor personas que tengan iniciativa y que sepan ser independientes con el trabajo, ya que ahora mismo no dispongo del tiempo para estar supervisando mucho el trabajo. POR FAVOR, SÓLO PERSONAS QUE REALMENTE QUIERAN AYUDAR Y TENGAN EXPERIENCIA CON EL TRABAJO DURO QUE SUPONE CONSTRUIR UN LUGAR.
  
  El próximo proyecto es habilitar unas cuevas para hacer un pequeño apartamento ahí. Por lo que se necesita tanto picar paredes, como encalar, construir una pequeña cocina, hacer la carpintería de puertas y ventanas, construir un baño seco y ducha fuera, etc.

  Accommodation

  We can accommodate you in the same main house, in your own room with a single bed. The bathroom is shared, as is the kitchen. In this case THE FOOD IS NOT INCLUDED, but we have fruit from the trees, eggs and some things from the garden that can be used.
  
  Te podemos alojar en la misma casa principal, en una habitación propia con cama individual. El baño es compartido, al igual que la cocina. En este caso LA COMIDA NO ESTÁ INCLUIDA, pero tenemos fruta de los árboles, huevos y algunas cositas del huerto que se pueden usar.

  You can reach the nearest town in 10 minutes walking. There you have a supermarket, greengrocery, pharmacy and bus stop. You have the capital at 20 minutes by car or 30min by bus. The beach is also at the same distance. In Santa Brígida (the closest "big" town 10min by bus from our place) you have a weekend market where you can buy local and organic products. In addition to Cafes, small shops, restaurants, post office, health center and everything you need.
  In the surroundings you have trails and paths where you can enjoy walks in nature.
  
  Se puede llegar al poblado más cercano en 10min caminando. Allí tienes un supermercado, frutería, farmacia y parada de bus. Tienes la capital a 20min en coche ó 30 en bus. La playa también está a la misma distancia. En Santa Brígida (el pueblo "grande" más cercano) tienes un mercado de fines de semana donde comprar productos locales y ecológicos. Además de cafeterías, tiendas pequeñas, correos, centro de salud y todo lo que necesites.
  Por los alrededores tienes senderos y caminos donde disfrutar de caminatas en la naturaleza.
