    Description

Greetings! My husband and I have lived all over the USA and recently settled in the beautiful city of Vergennes, VT. Several years ago we spent time in France and England working with several families through the workaway program. It was hard work, but an experience we will never forget and hope to do again. We knew we wanted to host volunteers ourselves when we returned home.

We are looking for someone to help with the many cleaning/improvement projects to do around this historic house. We won't expect you to do anything we haven't done or aren't helping with ourselves.

We are both easy going and love meeting new people. We are adventurous cookers and enjoy experimenting with different cuisines (and we'd dig learning some of your favorite recipes). We can do the cooking, or we can share that responsibility if you enjoy to cook as well. Help with the dishes or cooking will be expected beyond the working schedule we agree upon.

While we have traveled extensively, we are excited to settle down a little and get our "travel" through meeting people from all over the world. Our work is located less than 1 mile away from the Ticonderoga, NY train station (Amtrak) and only a 5 hr trip from New York City (NYC) and a few hours away from Montréal, Canada (2hr15 by car). Both NYC and Montreal are accessible by a daily train that goes to Ticonderoga. Our house is on Main Street in vergennes, Vermont and is easily walkable to restaurants, shops, grocery store, and parks.

We can pick you up from the train station in Ticonderoga, NY on a Monday-Friday, or from the airport in Burlington, VT, or bus station in Middlebury, VT.

Hanging out at a cafe in VT with the boys. There is a great food scene in the areas around Ticonderoga!
The little tike and I at a local festival. Baby carriers make life so much easier!
Burlington, Vermont. A cultural hot spot of artists, students, and generally amazing people. The area is also scattered with great opportunities for skiing, boating, golfing, biking, and lots of other "outdoorsy" things. We travel to Burlington (about 1h 15 away) about once or twice a month.
Middlebury, Vermont. Middlebury College is located here, as well as some fabulous restaurants, shops, and beautiful Otter Creek. Vermont has a strong brewing tradition and Matt and I like to travel to the different breweries around the state. Middlebury is also where we go to the farmer's market, co-op, and grocery store each week.
